I hope the finished product supports Wi-Max and Rev A...not merely Rev 0 as the article suggests,

I gotta say--why this slew of Rev. 0 devices? I don't understand it.

As for this device--very cool. If Sprint allows you to just, say, get a data plan, an iPod could become a very cool little device. I'd use it just for texting and surfing. Is it bad that I don't want to talk to people on the phone?

I've been thinking of a device like this to replace my cell phone for good. Something I could just text with and receive texts. Every time my phone rings I groan.

If Sprint's 3G Network is fast enough to support Skype ( AT&T's is because of HSUPA, but don't know my Pre could handle it) , I could see ditching a cell phone altogether.

I said this very same thing to a buddy last night.

But running on Rev. 0? I'm not so sure.

"Me too," hopefully this device uses EVDO Rev. A or faster, I have been enjoying fast speed with Rev. A in Utah for a year or two now, with Treo 700p, HTC Mogul and now HTC Evo 4G devices. Of course the Evo 4G can use not only EVDO Rev. A but also the WiMax 4G network here in Utah. Sprint is doing good, cool things and I'd like to see this Peel product for iPod Touch work well and be low priced, that would be great. $25/month with no contract rather like the iPad arrangement from AT&T -- That would get a lot of users and attention and I'll bet the Sprint 3G network could handle it.
