CTIA Sues City of San Francisco Over Wireless Law
Socialist San Fran
Consumers will (hopefully) always have more power than the gov't, because we can hurt a company's pockets unlike the gov't which relies upon bureaucratic BS to impose control. Mid-term elections are coming up...do your part to stop Obama's ridiculous blanket of control over America.
Democracy = slavery of the minority.

–noun, plural -cies.
1. government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.
We, the people(US citizens), elect representatives to create/uphold/enact laws that we (the citizens) are to abide by. On the local level (state/city) the citizens are allowed to vote depending on the

Then why are we going overseas and fighting for democracy if we don't have a democracy here in the US?
It seems a little hypocritical doesn't it?
besides the fact that;
Democracy = slavery of the minority.
*I don't mean to offend you if you are not a Christian but James Madison said on several occasions that God gave us these rights so no man can take them away. James Madison (the writer of the Bill of Rights) even said "It is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity toward each other." James Madison- meaning its not the job of the government to provide healthcare and welfare but that of the people to establish themselves.

If you don't like it leave
Hold on, if I don't like it LEAVE????
Since when does this country belong only to those who like it????
I think I'll maintain my libertarian stance and reject all of the BS coming out of the governments mouth and attempt to make this a country that once again supports liberty. You know, that thing that allows us to have true freedom like property rights, religious freedom, freedom of speech.
I mean, or we can just elect idiots to take it all away in the name of a "republic" or "democracy"
I agree with you that this country isn't at its peak glory, but look at the educational system... can you blame society for being so stupid?
If you haven't noticed the USA (even now) is still the freest most prosperous nation on the planet. you were referring to a Democracy... which I have proven we are not a democracy BUT a Republic. So don't get ahead of yourself
You however, do no appear be taking a strict interpretation on the condition of what our "republic" actually is.
You quoted Mr. Madison, and in number 10, he continues to write about some the the tyranny that a majority minority group can do. One very prominent example that I already mentioned is that we have direct election of our Senate. People tend to gloss over this, but this now places senators on national party interests rather than state interests.
Furthermore, our legislature hardly acts on its own accord as our executiv...

You cant force banks to lend money to people that can't afford houses and expect everything to be covered in gold. I really hope you don't think capitalism is the cause of this economic downturn.
Its unfortunate that capitalism is still blamed for what goes on in the market, unfortunate mainly because capitalism could have either solved or softened the blow of our problems in this economy.
Terms like "monopoly" and "corporate pigs" are thrown around like they actually exist in this society. And they do, but only because of government interference, not the other way around.
We are going downhill fast. There is reason ...

The fact that I agree with the definitions doesn't prove the point that US is a republic. We now need to show the real elements that prove that the US is a republic. I realize that there is no perfect society out there and that there will be no perfect republic. However, I have pointed out two major points that worry me about the original intent of the republic and the loss of the "checks and balances".
1. The direct election of senators.
2. Transfer of legislative power from the legislative to the executive.
To me those are critical points too ...

The thing that is beautiful about capitalism is that it is self-supportive and prevails when left alone (laissez-faire). Consumers hold the key to a company's success or demise through the power of boycott and the ability to choose a product from many competing companies. Why, then, does our gov't feel like it has the right to put it's hands in everything we do? How could our gov't ...

You see we continue to be sold on the idea that the United States is a republic simply because we have elected representatives. If you simply wish to hold to that rigid definition, then there is not much more to say to you.
More specifically, we use the representative system to run more and more like a democracy. Think about the direct election of Senators and what havoc that has done to states rights. Think about how we elect our congressmen more and more for weather they hold our views and not for weather or not they will uphold the law. Are you going to seriously tell me that the winner take all electoral college system is not indicative of a democracy?

This is on top of the $14T deficit we are already faced with. Our founding fathers would never have imagined that in less than 250 years after they gained independence from socialism in Europe, America would be faced with socialism entering our gov't. What we not only need but deserve as citizens of the United States is a government system run more like a business. Name one corporation that can take year over ...

Everyone does realize that the frequencies of radio waves which are used by cell phones have many of the same qualities as those frequencies of radio waves your microwave oven uses, right? And, among those qualities is the quality to cook food, or specifically meat! Although the power levels that phones emit are only a small fraction of the power levels used in microwave ovens, I would personally consider it nice to know the levels the phones are emitting. And, yes, those levels might influence my purchases of phones. One example would be, in the city with easy access to cell towers, why not go with the lowest possible emission levels and worry...

I can't say I expected that!
Welcome to phonescoop btw, but honestly, posting the same message over and over again can get a little irritating, but I'm a little irritating sometimes myself so... oh well. 😁
