It is rumored that they might recall the i-phone 4g.
They were talking about that in the news in the bay area this morning.

There's also a rumor, how believable it is I don't know, that a recall would cost $1.5bln!

A recall could cost as much as 900mil. at this point.

Everyone is technically under 30 day trial, so no real lawsuits/class action can be filed since no one has been forced or locked into commitment yet.

It would've cost Steve Jobs less money if he got out of his apple shaped bubble and tested his fail fone with his hands like normal people. 🤣

Speaking of Steve Jobs, just yesterday I finally, finally saw Pirates Of Silicon Valley yesterday. What did I learn? Steve Jobs is a strange zen sort of person, and Bill Gates lacks creativity.

Not to be a nazi, but it's the iPhone 4. Not 4G. =p

And it's actually cheaper for Apple to not do anything than recall or release bumpers. I love the phone I have. It's the first iPhone I've had since the 2G, and would be extremely happy with a free bumper. Eff a recall.

Same here. I couldn't be happier with my iPhone 4.

I'll take a free bumper if they offer one, but I won't go into the store pretending to have signal problems to get one.

I honestly believe people are going to be upset no matter what is announced tomorrow.

I tend to agree...though I have held off (which is a FIRST for me) on the iPhone4. Personally....there IS an issue, anyone who has the issue KNOWS about it...anyone who doesn't is HAPPY. Therefore....make sure those who are unhappy know they can take it back for a full refund. Done deal.

Took my iPad back after a week (due to the WiFi issues)...full refund, life goes on. I didn't piss and moan, didn't cry, didn't demand some fix....it is what it is.

While I think Apple screwed the pooch on this...as a consumer I would know I have the right 9and ability, thanks to Steve) to take it back. Other than that, Apple has no real duty to do anything else...legally.

As stated...it is all within the 30 days (and Apple could extend that). ...

My only issue would be with the restocking fee. Since there is a known issue that is causing customers to have dropped calls then why would they force the restocking fee on it. If it is the manufactuers issue then they should at least be waiving restocking fees for the returns.

Maybe not for all iPhone 4 customers, because some people still went out and bought the device after hearing about the issue, but at least the people who sat outside waiting for a phone that as soon as they got it were informed that if you hold it wrong will drop calls.

Just a thought.

I read an article that said that Apple had suspended the restocking fee for iPhone 4's. So there really isn't anything to complain about now really. I've contemplated going w/the new Samsung smartphone since it costs me nothing to return.

I hadn't heard that yet. Thats pretty awesome. Yeah I am definately looking into getting the Captivate. The only thing I am worried about is that in a couple of the reviews I had read that since it is all plastic it feels a little cheap. But the specs are pretty awesome and I have been waiting for AT&T to get a legit Android phone.

Where they announce that, contrary to whatever Steve Jobs says, the iPhone 4 has problems.

I know iOS4 on a 3G isn't a great experience, but I thought the 3GS was noticeably better.

I've seen a few videos where the update really slowed things down. If I wanted iOS4, I'd wait to get the actual iPhone 4.
