I never owned a phone with webOS, but I've messed around with my brother's Pre from Sprint. It's actually pretty fast and easy and watching youtube videos on Sprint EVDO in Chicago was fun.

I agree. I messed around with it as well and I was impressed. But Palm was too little too late. They sold out to HP and now their talent flocked over to Google. Let's fact it, it's dead. Android is getting better anyway. webOS is never gonna catch on.

but there's no discounting open source. it's so easy to make apps and to work on web os, it's crazy. android is a cool os, don't get me wrong, but even the best of droid devices don't have the touch-screen response that the palm pre does. Also, once palm comes out with thier new phone in october (as said by my palm rep) will sport a 1gig processor, 512 megs of ram and 16-32 gigs of internal memory. Give those specs on better palm hardware and you have a great phone.
