Google Remotely Kills 2 Apps from Android Handsets
Disabling Google Kill-switch
Someone needs to create an apps for rooted devices to disable the kill-switch, similar to the SBSettings app on jailbroken iPhones.
Anyone think this is possible? I have a feeling this will turn into standard procedure for not only Applications Google deems "Dangerous" but once carriers catch wind of this, they will be pushing Google to remove things as well.

The kill switch was in android since the market launched. Google never hid they had this capability.
Furthermore, since it's part of the marketplace TOS, sideloaded apps should be safe

I don't like it. This is tempering my enthusiasm for the Droid Incredible. Actually, that is a good thing. I don't need to drop two bills on a phone.

Eh, it's not a perfect solution, but there isn't really any other choice atm.
Because of the nature of the marketplace, it is possible that someone will make an app that will do things opposite of what it says it does (or update permissions and people just ignore it for the "update all" mentality).
Google could either tighten market policies (which might not be a bad thing in some aspects, but will most likely cause more problems than it solves)
Allow customers to keep malware on their phone, and then get sued when those customers say Google should've done something.
Develop some sort of pop-up notification on phones about the app and telling the customer they should uninstall. This would be a nice solution, but I'm not sure how...
