I just don't want AT&T. I'm no ceo or top execute that can afford AT&T. I really love the Iphone's OS' design but I don't want to leave Sprint. My only wish would be for Sprint to get the Iphone. I guess I will be forced to get a Android, which is not bad either from what I heard.

I really want the Touch Pro 2 but why would I get that when Microsoft is about to discontinue their OS and come out with Windows phone 7? plus Android moment is nice but I can see it now, because Android is soooo open the apps I would assume crash the phone. Apps interfering with other apps, and causing confliction and thus avoiding the phone to perform up to par with the projected specs and etc. Not apple, I honestly feel thats one of the reason's they are so s...

Honestly, the user experience is about as good, it isn't plagued by the crappiness of Android apps, and it has a fantastic UI.

If you want to go on AT&T, check to see if you get a discount. If you're a student or have an employer, you can get a pretty cool discount on AT&T (not to mention Sprint or Verizon) service.

I actually like Palm. I like the pre and the pixi but its more so for females to me. But I like the OS and the interface of the Palm device. I'm just afraid of limited apps. 😕

I really wanted the pre but once they sold out I kind of figured that shy'd developers away from their SDK and they won't have good apps.

The Android is looking like the best alternative as far as the "In-crowd" goes. I work in a call center and everyone has a android and only two people I know have iPhone. So with everyone having blackberry's and the bb users switching to android it makes android pretty attractive. Their all having fun with the inter-social android apps like the chirp push to talk apps and the throw and catch apps and if I get the pre I won't have those apps to interact with their android apps, I don't think I would. 😕

Why are you so afraid of android? Have you used one? Do you know people who have them? If you're scared of stability, don't run too many apps simaltaneously and don't make sure you only install reputable apps. I have a feeling you don't need as much handholding as you think you do.

By the way, I'm a huge fan of WebOS (aka Palm phones). If you want newer hardware, then hang tight there is a very good chance a new device will be coming out this year.

By the way, if anything, the HP purchase will only encourage developers in the long run.

I don't need holding hands but I'm no techie and If the app is running with another app in the background and I have no control over that. just like the Adobe slows phone/computers down and even crashes it. so alot of times we has regular consumers may not know all the specs and effects a certain app may have. We are not all tech geeks. So some consumers look at it like at least apple would look out for the best of me and the specs they project the phone can do, and the specs of what the phone can do is why a lot of consumers bought the phone to begin with. So protecting those specs and insuring that not even a developer can get in the away of the phone's performance to me is a good thing.

Again, not an issue with WebOS. Gotta love those "cards" for keeping track of your apps!

Palm is dead. Nobody wants a Pre. Verizon couldn't give them away for free! Sure webOS is good I'll admit but theres just one little tinsy weeny problem... no one cares. It's all about Apple and Google now. Come on blue, even you know better than that, I'm surprised at you.

Look people, if you can't get an iPhone the best possible alternative right now is an Android device. Everybody knows that. Get an Evo or wait for the Droid X. $hit get a Nexus One even if you wanna stay on AT&T but heaven's sake, please don't make a stupid mistake like getting a Pre. HP made it clear they bought Palm not to get into the smartphone business. Why buy a product for which has little momentum and support.

Being someone who has had both the Iphone and the Nexus one. (both on at&t) The iphone runs smoother, and has better apps, IMO, even the same two apps the iphone's app works better, the nexus one has better GPS and is more flexible. As for email, when using gmail on nexus one it has a true push experence. But has for replying and editing email the Iphone is better. They have trade offs which ever one you go with.

They're owned by the world's largest computer maker. And HP is going to be making a massive push for WebOS across a variety of devices, not just smartphones. (Aka tablets.)

Palm had virtually no effective marketing. Most people on Verizon don't even know about the Pre, and I can tell you now if you go in asking about it they'll try to sell you a Droid instead. . But the platform itself is dynamite. It's just now a year old and it humiliates Android.

Android's got nothing on it- it is literally just keeping the companies who used to rely on Windows Mobile afloat. It's fragmented, suffers from poor hardware integration, inconsistent user experiences, and lazy upgrade cycles- which reflects on the Android marketplace (like visit...

How is Android going to die? They seem to be dishing out devices faster and faster. Not only that but the devices are more powerful. Android has devices on all major networks, open market, multitasking, and the only OS on 4G. They also have great apps. I don't know what you don't like about them but from having a Droid and an Apple iPod Touch I have to say that most of the apps on Android are more usefull and cheaper (pricewise) than Apple. Apps on iPhone/iPod have a few good ones but most of the best ones are games, not tools.

Android also appears to be using more internet traffic than other smartphones. It looks like Android is in fact getting stronger! 😎
