iPhone 4 doesn't have a HDMI output? 😕

I wouldn't want to watch moives that much on my iPhone, if I had one.

Erm...you know, mobile phones are supposed to be mobile, and some people *gasp* might actually want to watch movies on the go.

Uhm this is if let's say you're on the go and want to watch a movie.

Who cares about HDMI output? No seriously, I can't imagine wanting to pay for HDMI output on a cell phone. If I'm watching a movie on my TV I want the cell phone in my pocket, not up behind the TV.

Honestly, I would use the hell outta that. I think it would be a big slice of awesome to carry around a ton of HD movies on my cell phone and plug it in any TV anywhere I am. Yes, I'd like to be able to take calls too, but that would rock nonetheless. I'm not knocking Apple for not including it, but it would be an very useful feature for a guy like me. I wouldn't have a seperate external drive, just an all-in-one device.

Actually, I find HDMI a great addition to a phone. I purchased my Evo friday and have used the output twice already. It really does make connection between phone and Monitor a breeze. My friends and family loved it. In fact two people I know that owned iphones, purchased their Evos the next day after using my Evo and the HDMI was one of the selling features. It really is quite cool for business presentations.

How many movies can a person watch with a measly 200mb's, or even 2gb's. Both 200mb's & 2gb's pretty much amounts to *nothing*!!!!!

I think they're hoping that people watch the movies off of wifi.

Also, if the Netflix app for the Iphone is anything like the silverlight version, it will change bit rate depending on connection speed.

10:1 there is code in there that compresses the movie no matter what over 3g

Oh, I'm glad it was you that responded and not BC!!!!

Anyway, well, really the only thing about Iphone 4 that I'm julous of is that frinkin spectacularly amazing screen and it's 900+ pixels, wow.

Yeah, I do like the screen. But why did they push it BEYOND the ability of the human eye to discern? Why not just cut it off at the threshold? Is there something about the tech that has to make it 326 ppi? I dunno, just me thinking.

But Netflix is dumb if they cap the data usage that low. And if they want me to watch it over WiFi, I think i'll just stick with a laptop. I'm not gonna sit at starbucks or au bon pain staring at my phone for 90-120 minutes just so I don't run over my allotted data amount. Not a knock on the iPhone, but definitely a knock on AT&T.

On a side note, the only feature that really screams out to me as "magical" is the display. The 1Ghz chip just seems like bragging rights, as I doubnt it is going to make...

Yep, I feel the same way, stand out feature is the display.

Nothing else all that exciting. Both IT&T's data network, and data plans can't handle either Netflix or video calling.

i think they should have kept unlimited plans still available but at a little bit higher price maybe. if they really feel the data users put that much strain on the network then they should build it up. i was hoping these metered plans were a temporary fix but unfortunately they arent going away. and some people actually will benefit from them. not me. i'm just glad i kept mine.

And they've been spending all this $$$ on giving the network more capacity, but these new plans kinda ruin that.

I'm not so attracted to the higher Res in this case. With the Droid and the Evo pushing the limits of visual perception, The difference would be minimal. No doubt it will be much clearer than what iphone users are used to, but your Droid is more than adequate.

JB.

PS. The Evo is now in my possession and I am far more than pleased. This is an awesome device.

Welcome to the Evolution that the Evo is Mr. Slammer!!!

Hey, I'm curious, have you hooked he Evo up to an HDTV using HDMI and watched a high qualiy YouTube video yet? That's the capability of the Evo that I'm curious about.

Yes I have. It really is a wonderful experience. My family and friends were amazed by slide showing the pix that I took as well. I am quite pleased with my decision. Two of my friends went out and bought their Evos the next day. He HDMI output was only one of many selling points. The larger screen is less intrusive than many would think. I love it.

Yes and It works great! There is some minor degradation from viewing the large screen as opposed to the small screen. But the difference is minimal and still very much enjoyable. I found nothing to complain about. I am really a fan of HTC and what they have done.

I'm still trying to get used to Android. I like it alot but I can't say I love it yet. I have used WinMo for so long, that it has become an old sock for me. WinMo is underrated. People want simple which has made them lose touch of what WinMo is capable of. I can't wait for Windows7. My touch pro2 was a tank. Nothing could stop it.

My Brother inlaw works for VZW and upgraded to the Incredible from his Droid. He misses the slide out keyboard. But he loved the virtual on my Evo...

Dude, check out this article, this person went to Sprint and got themselves an Evo 4G cause their pist about ATTs stingy data plans.

Who knows, if Vzn is too stingy with their BS stingy metered LTE data plans maybe I'll wait out my contract and go to Sprint.

I'm guessing your brother lives in the Philly metro area, where you told me your from?. . .well !!perhaps!! YOU should move to where the Wimax is!!!!!!

I intend to get Clear service back when I'm finished paying off my credit card.

Hey do me a favor, please let me know if your brother ever gets higher than 15mbps. That's the fastest I've ever gotten, and I want to know if Clears speeds have gotten any better since the 6 months I had to turn off service.
