RadioShack Opening at 6AM for HTC EVO 4G Launch
Not so fast...
First off, let me start by saying how happy I no longer work for RadioShack. I quit 3 weeks ago after 4 years to work for at&t...couldn't be happier. 6am is a little ridiculous. Anyway, I was a Sprint customer for five years. My last disappointment as a customer was the Pre. I remember waiting for months with all the built up "iphone killer" talk that all these new phones get. All I can say is that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Something about HTC just kinda rubs me the wrong way. My roommate has a Nexus One for at&t, and has already had to send it back 2 times because of issues. I agree. Sprint's 4G won't be acceptably viable for a while. And AT&T's 3G speeds are being steadily pumped up. And their voice coverage is excellent.

I don't need a review. Any 700 mhz signal is going to be far superior to 2500 mhz. Especially with Verizon behind it.

Are you forgetting the amount of Bandwidth that VZW has compared to Sprint? Sure, 5 of you might be able to use that indoors, but number 6?? Sorry. I've used an EVO inside of a Mall underground and the 4G works just fine. I don't know how it would behave in a bomb shelter, but then again how many users are planning on conducting business in a bomb shelter?

I am not going to even go into coverage with you, because you obviously fail in that category. And your price plan analysis is horrible, sprint gives you unlimited calls to cell phones on that plan, and it is for EVERYBODY!!!!! you have an employee plan.. and your math is off, 4g covers over 42 million people so that is no where near the 1% you claim that don't have coverage.... again you fail. On to the next part of you post, The HTC Incredible is almost flawless except for battery life and the HD2 is probably the best windows phone out in the US. Your problem is you are comparing the iphone for its Locked OS and apple store, because spec wise there are so many better phones than the iphone. But enough of the iphone, you make baseless claim...

My plan analysis? 39.99 is the basic 450 plan, go into an at&t store any look. My ANR employee plan is 20 dollars a month for 2000 minutes, so as you'd say, FAIL. Also, we're talking real world use. Sprint has been losing an average of over 15million customers every quarter, must be because of their fantastic coverage, huh? The specs are there for their phone and service, but real world use never matches up with all the hype.
I was in no way trying to make this an iphone is better battle. But don't bring up the "locked OS." What app can you not find in the app store that you need? You have over a couple hundred thousand to choose from...and if you need open, man up and jailbreak your phone. Not to mention, fragmentation on android is...

Get your facts straight. Sprint has been gaining since Q3 of 09 not alot but a few 100k customers. They only have 53 mil so losing 15mil a Q aint even close. Sprints network is by far the most stable for smart phones. At&t has the most towers by far. 1.39:1 at&t:verizon. Sprint has 85% the coverage that vzw has. Vzw also has the worst customer service followed by tmo at&t takes second and sprint is first.
note that statement is based on 09-10. Sprint was garbage prior to 08 I'll fully admit they sucked. Now adays tho I dare say they are the best overall for where the coverage is. The sad thing is, is that I work for at&t now.... Still have my radioshack sprint account tho.. I like both HATE VZW. They screwed me my family most of my frie...

Well the original post description on the plans wasn't accurate based on what Sprint's 69.99+ and AT&T 39.99+ plan entails. Let me break it down for you.
69.99 = 450 anytime minutes, unlimited data, unlimited text messages, nights free after 7, weekends free, freedom to call any cell phone in the nation regardless of carrier incoming or outgoing calls.
10.00 = Since the Evo is a heavy data intense phone, it requires the additional 10.00 add-on, not necessarily for 4G, but nothing extra will come out of your pocket once 4G does hit your market.
29.99 (optional) = 3G/4G 8 wireless hotspot. Yes it works in 3G as well, and the data is not capped.
