The headline says *All* Android smartphones, Evo is only 1.
So again how does anybody do a video call w/o a front facing camera, Evo is the ONLY one with a front facing camera.

They'll make the App available in the App store, but you likely will not want to down load it to your handset if your handset is limited. It's not really a question for them but rather for you in choosing the Droid when you know the Supersonic (now Evo) was coming before you purchased it. Also, once this App IS available perhaps Android handsets going forward will have two cameras. I know that the Vphone from Saygus does, unfortunately it looks as though Verizon has no plans to allow it to be sold.

I thought it was never going to be sold through Vzn directly, but people would buy it from Saygus website?

I can't get over how little attn this headline is getting on PS!!!

Good point, Jay. Let's hope this is not an indication of how well the Evo will sell once released. I want the Evo to be the device that puts Sprint back on the map. GO SPRINT!!! 😁 😁 😁

Well, one more week to go!!!

Did you read PS's review of the Evo? I read half of it so far.

I read in PS's review that the Evo doesn't have a physical camera button, how stupid is that?!!?

Neither does the Hero.

I have to agree with you though, it seems like a silly choice on HTC's part.

When I use the camera on my Droid I don't even go through the menus or anything, I just long press on the camera button.

For some reason it seems to me as though HTCs always have a problem with one thing or another.

So MissChris, what do you think about the Motorola Shadow, or whatever it's official name ends up being? Think it'll be a big seller for Vzn?

Good thing it's a slow news day on PS, or I might not have seen this message! 🙂

To be honest, I haven't really done my research on the Shadow yet. I am currently using a 755 on my vzw account, and a v3m on my sprint dealer account. (i know, i know, but someone gave it to me, and since i didn't want a 2nd contract, i am using the razr.)

Even though I'm using 2 moto phones right now, I haven't really loved moto products since the days of my e815. I actually used an upgrade to buy it a second time! (although I think that model was actually a Pantech rebrand...)

I'm glad the Droid is getting mostly good reviews, maybe it's a throwback to the good ol' days at motorola. And I love the look of it. 😁

...erm...perhaps by turning the phone around? I mean, you don't necessarily hafta see the screen in order to look at a phone and talk.

Then what's the point of video chat if neither of you can see the video stream....

You can't do it without the camcorder on the front, but on the article it said it would bring it to the android devices later this year. I thought they meant all the upcoming devices. You see how some of the old android devices are still running old operating systems so it has to mean this skype feature would be exclusive to newer handsets. All Newer Android handsets i'm guessing.

the camera on the back..? from what I have heard, all android devices are capable of having video chat, and just need it enabled with an update.

either way, dumb concept and a waste of time if they add it to older phones that dont have a front facing camera.
