I have 2 computers now, the first one had Norton anti-virus and virus made it stop working ☹️ the other one is working perfect and has no anti-virus installed 😁 I think a comupter is more secure with out a security program 🀣

I already use a program called 'free antivirus' that seems to work fine - just scans applications that are downloaded before installation & after installation. I simply dont trust McAfee or Norton - most viruses are written specifically to break their systems!

While that point is valid, it is also true for just about every Antivirus now. I've seen systems with Antiviruses both obscure and mainstream get eaten by the "scareware" which infects systems lately. I can't remember the last time I have actually had to remove a real live Virus. It's always been Scareware and Trojans/Worms/Spyware that have been infecting everyone lately. Antivirus companies are learning this and trying to get their Antivirus softwares a leg up to detect these "Malware" threats, but are still play catchup to the dedicated Malware removers such as Malwarebytes Amtimalware, SUPERAntiSpyware, and Spybot - Search and Destroy.

And I've never gotten a virus. Therefore hot-dogs are the best anti-virus out there.

Just an FYI: Correlation is not Causation.

Just because you've had good luck without anti-virus doesn't make you safer... it makes you luckier (or unknowingly infected - since a LOT of infections run well enough that they don't hog resources or show behaviour that's easily noticable)

No coverage is perfect, and no AV will 100% protect you, NAV does a decent job - according to most reviews. They have also improved considerably vs previous years where they were contstantly belittled for being a resource hog - again according to reviews.

Having nothing installed is like driving without a seat-belt - or riding a bike without a helmet... Fine if nothi...

Their are situations where driving without a seatbelt and riding a bike without a helmet is the better choice.

Like if your in an accident and the car catches on fire but you can't get out because the seatbelt is jammed.

Or when your riding a bike and you wanna show off your cool new hairstyle to a group of hotties outside of the bar your riding past. 😎

Maybe if you lived in a Michael Bay film...

Cars rarely ignite after an accident, and seatbelts rarely jam. Both scenarios are highly unlikely to happen at the same time. If they do, you should have thought twice before buying a first gen Ford Pinto! πŸ˜›

is more important than the much more likely scenarios where seat-belts and helmets save lives!!!

Just like the small amount of lag in an AV/AS suite isn't worth all the protection (even if imperfect) that the security suite provides...

My grandpa always told me real men carry pocket knives - so if you DO get stuck in a burning car with a jammed seatbelt YOU CAN CUT THE CORD! See, old wisdom is still wise!
