unlimited vs tiered: it doesn't have to be one or the other, does it?
That way the users who don't need much data can pay for what they use, and those who use large amounts can be safe from nasty bills.
The danger with tiered data and VOIP or VOLTE or whatever they want to call it in the future is this: We think VOIP will give us unlimited minutes, but if minutes are measured in MB's, then the more you talk the more data you consume, and therefore you will pay more on a tiered data structure.
My solution: Choice. If you are on a family plan with phones that are not data capable, then you will use minutes (or at least have access to minutes). If you have an option to make calls through a VOIP app,...
