Wow! Ground breaking innovation

R U kidding me! This sort of program has been available since 2006. Also, Google is partnering up with Sony to create a television that can surf the web. WTF! I've been had my 46" Lcd T.V. hooked up with my Pc for over 5yrs, which gives me the same affect if not better than what they're miraculously saying is the next best thing to come out. If this is the best that Google can pump out against Apple's software then I'll might as well make the funeral arrangements for a once innovating company in Mountain View Ca.

Google TV is not the same thing as having your computer (even a media center PC) hooked up to your TV. Surfing the web from the TV is just a TINY fraction of what they are building the platform for.

And this program for phones hasn't been available since 2006, at least not cheaply and in a consumer friendly package.

How can you comment on innovation when you don't understand what they are doing?

Thank you menno. Innovation will only make all of our lives better and if this is not you then guess what? You are not the audience they are marketing to so simply change the channel. We have been waiting for the future to arrive ever seen MJ Fox in back to the future, but now that it is here all of these people are complaining about what it is. Give me a frigging break.

Really so Google T.V isn't going to be similar to having your Pc hooked up to you flat screen T.V?

Besides using software similar to Slingbox, Google T.V is exactly in what I stated in the beginning.

Furthermore, the technology to track your whereabouts like a travel journal has been out for sometime now.

Since my original post was correct, and therefore refuting all of your challenges with links to back my argument, where does this leave you now?

I have yet to see any computer program that will allow you to seamlessly watch Live TV on your computer, pop it into picture in picture and look up the sports scores. you can do this to a limited success with media center, but it doesn't give decent integration with online content.

Or you can search for a show and it will give you all available online and live casts of that show. You can select online stuff using an app like boxee, but live TV integration sucks.

Then there are widgets, the browser, etc. The key is it's taking all this stuff and putting it into a cohesive platform instead of forcing people to cobble together 3 or more programs. Not to mention they're actively working with content producters to make web/media portals...
