I'm all for this. Quite frankly the only people that have a problem with this are the ones buying prepaid to use for illegal activities. I've never had anyone object to giving me their information when buying it for a kid or elderly parent. Its the shady characters that have a problem with this. Drug Dealers and terrorists dont have any rights in my book.

All i'm going to say is your view is very skewed. The people have a right to privacy. I'm for the people of these United States. Always have been, always will be. Red, White & Blue. I agree, privacy is an endangered species. Everywhere I turn theres a TV show with people airing out their dirty laundry for the world to see. MTV is single handedly responsible for "lack of privacy". Then you have Facebook and myspace and twitter and blogs where people are letting us know exactly what they are doing every moment of the day. Me asking for your name and address to sell you a phone is not really that much of an invasion.

Sir, I don't use facebook or any other social networking sites because of the lack of privacy and safety. Each day you hear about someone being stalked or kidnapped and a social networking site had something to do with it. PrePaid is nice where you just go anywhere. Shell out money and be on your merry way without missing a beat.

edzero,
I still don't see where its your business to know my name and address for this phone, when I'm not signing a contract. I understand post paid, credit checks, etc... There is no reason outside of some fascist state reasoning. if you don't like in your store then don't sell it to those people, they will just go elsewhere.

or.. u can also try to live under a rock, then nobody would care about your privacy.

seriously americans dont know the meaning of compromise. there are some rights that u can live without so u can have the more important rights, like the right to live and security.

and its not like everybody would know your name, if you dont trust the store rep. buy from somewhere else.
