The market is already saturated with OSes, the last thing we need is more. We need unifying forces not 15 completely incompatible OSes. But the manufacturers can only learn one way and one way only, when they lost money.

In one year, the OSes will be much fewer and all projects that will have not generated money will be halted immediately. We will then be left with
1) Android
2) Apple iphone OS
3) Blackberry
4) WinMO
5) [symbian] == Even though this OS will be completely irrelevant in north america, it still owns all others overseas. But in 1 year it will get crushed by other OSes and maybe dethroned permanently.

ahm... what qualifications to u have to make those predicitions? 🙄
and also its their money..let them do what they want with it.. android stands for being open and for development/innovations, if you only have this 5 OSes then there are lesser areas where development can come from.. 😉

It's kind like saying "ooh you're running the new .Net OS".

Second, Symbian will be #1 on that list for a very long time. There are over 800 million S60 devices out in the wild with huge markets (Brasil, Europe, Russia, China, & India) all waiting for the release of S^3.

You should really read before you post.

Bada is actually a cheaper alternative to full blown Smart OSes.

Samsung's intention is to lower the entry price of a smart phone so that the masses out there can utilize it at a more affordable price and yet still get the benefit of a semi-fully operational smart OS.

Samsung is the world 2nd largest mobile phone manufacturer. It sold over 225 million phones last year. If Samsung entices at least 1/4 of their user base to switch over to their Bada phone line, it would already trump Android, iPhone and others in shear numbers.

Dont underestimate Samsung. They dont spend money on failed businesses. What ever market they enter, in a few years they always end up in the top of the market share class, everytime. They have the money and...
