No one is mentionging the fact they dropped the ETF on feature phones.

Why do people think the ETF should be the same on some cheap phone as a smartphone? Smartphones get subsidized far more then dumbphones. Of course smartphones have requesite data plans, but that's reflected in the fact that the smartphone ETF drops faster then dumphone ETF.

I don't work for AT&T, don't even have an AT&T phone, but I don't think you have to be to grasp the logic of this. /shrug.

While they did drop the ETF on dumbphones, at $4 a month prorated, the customer is still on the hook for over $50 through the last day of the 24th month of their contract. On smartphones, it's even worse now since they didn't raise the prorating. Cancel before the last day of that contract and still owe at least $85.

Don't understand why the prorating isn't just simple math: eft divided by the number of months in contract.
