It'll probably take 4-6 months though because of Vzn's involvement. Uh-oh, I just thought of something, I didn't see any mention of Google enabling the saving of apps2sd card in 2.2, that's really important to me, I don't want the internal memory of my Droid to be all bogged down!
...
Memory bogging down? That's odd, I don't seem to have that issue with my iPhone *OR* Pre! 🤣
Fail.

Ow man look at this cool guy over here with his lame phones. You can hate all you want but we are getting flash while you can dream about it. My droid runs fine, done know what this other guy is crying about.
...
I'm new to this site and I've notice his name on EVERY anti-android/blackberry/anythingnotiPhone post.
Why do people feel the need to be a jerk when someone is just being happy about some cool news about their stuff?
...
A) "Flash" is absolutely horrible.
B) Android is pretty bad. Despite the hype of a lot of fanboys, I think Android is basically Windows Mobile with iPhone UI elements ripped off. Being critical of Android comes from things I have that most members of this forum don't have:
1) My own phone not on my mom's line.
2) 10 years of mobile development experience from PalmOS all the way to WebOS
3) Investment in almost every smartphone platform from S60 to UIQ to WinMo to iPhone. I'm able to point to the problems in a platform and put them into context.
4) I own a Nexus One. Criticizing it and the Android platform is fair game (I've also had on me a Droid/Incredible and a G1.) Most people who criticize another phone on this forum ...

If you want to come off as an expert, you need to back it up. Your constant criticism of Android while worshiping the iPhone means only one of 2 things: either the iPhone is perfect (it's not) or you are extremely biased (seems more likely). Respect must be earned.

my thing is, it's 2010. doesn't it seem smarter to just route the saving/installing/running of apps from the sd card? Windows mobile 6.0 was able to do that on the htc dash years ago. i believe google's reasoning behind it is "app security/copyright issues" come on lets be realistic, people are gonna rip the apps "for testing" one way or another. This sucks...I have a jailbroken G1 with a rooted version of ADP 1.6 DRC83 ROM. someone is bound to cook up a flash browser for this phone. i'm not ready to part with all my juicy apps that may or may not work on the newer android devices. 🙄
...
The term Jailbroken is for the Iphone, because the Iphone has to be Broken for it to do what users want it do do. We Root Android phones because we do not have to break it to work. Im sure once you get a newer Android phone you will like it much better, it runs a lot better and the extra speed of the phone makes it worth wild.
...
My friend has the G1 and I have almost all of the apps he has (the ones I like at least)
It shouldn't be an issue. worst case you can return it, re-activate your G1 and re-download the apps
...
Well that's what this article says Android's newest version will do, run apps faster. Even on the Droid which doesn't have a 1ghz processor.
...
I guess we will have to wait to see what happens. I want to root my phone so it runs the apps from the SD card, but I have yet to feel my phone lag with anything. We will just have to wait to see what happens.
...
Well if it was going to be included wouldn't it be in this article?
...
Guess we'll have to wait and see, huh? N1 owners should be able to tell us soon.
...
Sorry, didnt get to finish my post. In other reports of what is included in this update, yes the install to SD Card is there. That is also according to the dev info from googles site. That is also info from phonearena, and boy genius report. So just because phonescoop was being lazy and didnt want to report everything that is going to be in the update, doent mean that someone else has done the homework to find out the answers fully. 😎
...
Wouldn't it be the other way around, like newer apps not working on older Android smartphones, rather than older apps not working on newer Android smartphones?
Btw, thank you for showing up!!! Before you came along it was just me and frinkin Bluecoyote in here, yikes, don't do that to me.

From the wording, it sounds like Motorola, Verizon, etc are working CLOSELY with Google to launch this ASAP
...
You really think so, huh? Well there's this one element that likes to interfere and bud into things it had nothing to do with making, the carrier, Vzn.
...
from front page, "Among other new features, Android users will now be able to store apps on external memory, instead of the device's internal storage. This should allow for larger apps, which will include more advanced games."
...
Do you think there will be the ability to move apps I already have to SD card? Or will I have to uninstall them all, and
reinstall to the SD card?
...
"Among other new features, Android users will now be able to store apps on external memory, instead of the device's internal storage."
...uh, like a micro sd card?
...
I Thought In The Article It Stated That We Will Be Able to Save Apps To External Mem Vs The Internal Storage On The Dvcs??? Am I Reading It Wrong? 😕
