Because at $110.00/month that's steep as hell and better be able to replace your home broadband connection.

Eh, I wouldn't trust a wireless cell company connection over a hard-wired internet connection.

I can count on one hand the number of times my cellphone didn't have a connection (where I lived)

My landline seems to cut out 2 times a month (I have one for DSL)

My cell data is much much more reliable than the AT&T DLS in my area. Sprint 3G aircards get a faster connection than AT&T 6MBPS DLS...so I will take wireless over landline.

Where you live...exactly. I live in South Florida. We get hurricanes. It's good to have a hard line.

Hardlines around here cost almost as much as cellphones, with more hidden fees and less reliability. (Frontier)

Most people still have them I think, but this area has the highest amount of Cellphone only people I've lived in.

There's no real benefit to having a landline unless you fax, at least around here.

$80/month for the majority of people that don't need unlimited minutes.

450 minutes for 69.99... + $10.

Unlimited Cell-to-Cell + 450minutes is more than good enough for most people.

This is true in both responses.... however the more intelligent ones will realize they need'nt pay extra for unused minutes.....maybe...

Hmmm ... considering it would be 69.99 + 59.99 (130.00) for comparable plans in 3G from Sprint & more from other carriers so ... 110 is a steal!
