Verizon Picks LG Android Phone As its Latest Ally
Sucks that the Ally has 5 homescreens and the Droid only has 3

What is the deal with the Droid only having 3 home screens and the Ally having 5!!! This isn't fair!!! 😡
PandaHome gives you up to 11 screens, Helix Launcher gives you 7 screens and puts the phone, market, message, and browser icons on the bottom of all screens to free up real estate. I've put tons of different custom ROMs on my Droid, and I always go back to Helix Launcher.
Any idea as to how those preview cards came up?
And by the way, I did as you said, I went to menu>settings>applications management, go to the specific app, and it says that I have Heelix set as default, so that was simple enough to do, thanks!
The Motorola Droid on VZW is a bit different from most other phones- Big Red is contractually forbidden to **** with what Google does- they cannot cripple it in any way, or force their branding. IOW, the only way to block this feature is to block the entire update (or beg Google/Moto to not include this feature)
Is any of that true?
I don't think verizon can mess with the phone.. but who knows.
Remember, even if the feature is built in.. you could get MASSIVE charges for using it without a plan though. Depending on how they code the data.
I don't see why they don't just allow it though. Unlimited handset, 5gb/month cap for tethering (at least until 4g) and call it a day.
I think its atHome or something similar.
The cool thing about android is... if you find something you don't like, or that you want: you can install something to change it.
Don't like the messenger? get a new one.
Not enough home-page screens? install an app taht gives you more.
