Sprint Bails on the Google Nexus One
What if you don't want the Sense UI...
Or is Google bailing on the Nexus One? What about the "With Google" devices? Is that class of device disappearing?
This is a shame as honestly, after using the Nexus One (which has grown on me) and the Droid Incredible, I'd pick the Nexus One even with its janktastic trackball and buttons.
I find the Sense UI is absolutely horrendous, needlessly complicated, and vomit-inducingly ugly. If you've used a regular Android device with 2.x, there's no benefit to it. The keyboard HTC bundles with it is nothing short of ridiculously ...

I'm going to sum up my hatred of Sense like this:
1) The Keyboard is friggin terrible.
2) The dialer re-skin is awful
3) The phone book re-skin is awful
4) The phone lags
5) The green-glossy gradients look awful and aren't done correctly
6) It's glitchy
Since I occasionally have to develop across multiple platforms and test web applications I have a Palm Pre and Nexus One as well. Usually there's another phone in the arsenal too, recently it was a Droid Incredible however that piece of crap is going back.
Every single criticism I have of Android, its development model, the leave-the-customer-holding-the-bag approach to improvements, lack of direction, and its crappiness as a platform remains and if anything it's amplified by the phone.
I think the Nexus One (and its subsequent cancellation) in a sick way proves my point that Google has no idea what they're doing, which is moreso my issue. I don't see Froyo fixing anything other than opening the Flash can-of-worms.
If you dont like the background, you can get another one.
If you want more memory, you can get another one.
If you need a new battery, you can get another one.
If you break it, you can get another one.

I've owned a droid since they came out and have had 0 issues, that is a fact!
Iphone is good for games, when you finally decide you want to do more than play a pretty game. DROOOIIIID!
Why do I need to download/buy a 3rd party keyboard? I just want the standard Android keyboard. Look at the standard Android phone book and Sense UI phone book next to each other.
Why do I need to run all of the Sense UI processes in the background? Why can't I disable most of these redundant features?
