Lessons Learned?

The real question is what lessons Google has learned from their first foray into retail and can they do better if they try again?

Did they learn that going into competition with your partners can be dicey, especially when they have more experience in the field? Essentially they were pimping The Droid to people who didn't want to wait.

Did they learn that promising a device and not delivering in a timely fashion can be deadly? The CDMA N1 delays allowed it to be passed by other devices and it lost the hype.

Did they learn that "The Google Way" is not necessarily suited to being a direct retailer. Email's answered in days is no way to handle tech support.
