I laugh at all you Fandroids and how you stand behind a product that is so controlled by corporations that don't care about you. I have yet to see a major update go through on Android without being postponed or cancelled or done in several roll outs. Sure the operation system is "open" but your $200 phone is outdated 2 months after purchasing it and will never get updates that it can support.

perfect example... all the Sprint Fandroids that still cant use 2.2 because Sprint/Google doesnt care.

Because they only update once a year.

I laugh at how little you know about an industry you can't help but comment on.

And genius, 2.2 isn't out yet

You, like deepbluesky, should just stop posting. You're just embarrassing yourself.

"**REMINDER** the carriers are are in business to make money, they pay Samsung,HTC and Motorola to program the first iteration of the Android OS. Carriers do not want to spend a lot of money on programmers for (free) software updates when they can sell you a new device. ~$300-$600." ........Murmermer 5/8/2010.

Exactly why Apple makes the largest profit of all Handset Manufacturers. They over charge for their products, lock everyone into proprietary equipment. And talk about outdated? Apple just keeps adding mainstream programs with every new phone that everyone else has been enjoying for months or a year and they refuse to let you do anything without Steve's permission.

Google has spent tons of money on prepping their OS before and a...

what are you talking about?

whether you purchase an Android phone or an Apple phone you pay the same cost for the device and the same MRC.

if you would rather support google that sells your personal information, keeps a copy of your address book and uses your search results to market you then fine. But I chose Apple because they keep my information private, write error free software and assemble top notch hardware.

So iAd and Apple Genius and them embedding your personal information in everything you download is just a myth then, right?

Being a fanboy is one thing. Being ignorant of the fact that Apple will use your information to their advantage is another.

Right...on time right?

Like how they were months late for push notification?

Like they mention how Flash support is on the way?

If by "on time" you mean once a year for a major update?

If by "error free" you mean how MobileMe deleted now only information but account all together?

If by "error free" you mean how Snow Leopard deleted all data on people's computer even if it was backed up.

If by paying for AT&T crappy coverage and services instead of paying Verizon for the same price but better service and coverage, then your right.

You can choose Apple, with all their faults just like every company is going to have. I rather have my Nexus thank you.

I am not talking out of pocket. I am referring to the fact that paying 600 dollars for an Android device, doesn't net Google nearly the profit that Apple makes off the iphone of the same price. Yet Apple sits back and collects while the other companies are as you say, spending money to get the upgrades out to who is supporting their businesses; The customer.

With the money Apple is making, their customers should be enjoying the very latest and newest things possible. not waiting while everyone else is enjoying them months ahead. I.E......Sms, Multitasking etc.

Don't think Apple is exempt from obtaining personal records.

Really? Seriously? How is your flavor of koolaid any better?

Carriers are in it to make money... Really? How is Apple any better? For the same item, you pay *MORE* for *LESS* functionality. Yet they are supposedly better? Fashion is over-priced.

As others have mentioned: *NO ONE* has 2.2. It isn't released yet. The newest phones due out this fall should have it.

Here's a clue: Apple doesn't care about you either. They only care about your money. Why do you think they keep you locked into *THEIR* eco-system?

While Google has issues - atleast I'm not locked to one version of a single phone... that only gets updated once per year... with features that are barely keeping up with the competition.

I'll pick Google *ANY DAY* of the w...

Why do you care if people like Android? I don't like Apple, but I really could care less if you use their phone. But you are comparing Apple and oranges, if you'll forgive the pun. Android is available on a wide array of hardware and devices. On top of that, the Hero has a customized version of Android. Have you ever seen a customized UI on an iPhone? Oh, wait, no one can do that cuz no one but Apple can see the source code.

And as Menno pointed out, Apple only releases updates once a year!! Android, in less than 2 years, has evolved into something truly amazing. 2.1 rocks, even on my hacked myTouch. Yes, you can talk about fragmentation, I can talk about stagnation, whatever. El Goog is putting a stop to most of the fragmentat...
