Yes, Showtime III, they are serious. What are you thinking. Scroll down a little in the stories from this weekend and you will see that T-Mobile is aggressively trying to find a partner so they can play catch-up with their 3G 4G networks. And the i-phone is not that important. There were almost 4 million more Blackberries sold this year than Iphones in the US.

One very very important issue that all the phone companies are working on is standardizing phone charging ports so you don't have to pay $25 (unless you buy online) to get a new car charger, house charger, etc. So yes, it was simply a piece of news. I'll be sure to let T-Mobile know that they should drop EVERYTHING they are doing and only focus on Showtime's request for a faster n...

you'll be sure to let tmobile know.... LOL, who are you again?

blackberry sold 4 million more than apple:

1. im not even going to check that statistic, but i'd appreciate it if you would provided a link to where you got your information.

2. if your statistic is true, thats an unfair and pathetic comparison. but since you're comparing i'll play along. do you not see a problem when you are only slightly outselling a device that is locked to one company? maybe att's iphone vs blackberry sells would be a more accurate comparison on what people want.

on a sidenote. LOL @ RIMs failed attempt to mimic the iphone (storm)

moving along, tmobile is trying to partner up with people to catch up with 3g networks? stop playing catch up a...

They are not partnering to catch up with 3G!! Read the damned article first!! They are partnering up to roll out 4G. T-Mo's 3G is being updated to 7.2Mps, and will be upgraded beyond that to HSPA+, with max bandwidth of 21 Mbps.
The iPhone is not the end-all, be-all of cell phones. But enjoy your Flash video.

Showtime III is right. It's a silly story on a slow news day. Those micro usb chargers should not be standardized so the public WILL have to buy new chargers every few years. The more you standardize the fewer we sell. Why not just sell one model of phone, tires, cars..yep, it would bring costs (and profits) down. Keep it to yourself next time, you don't seem to know your facts.

lol

first of all if you standardize it will bring the cost down and RAISE profits. just a little business 101 for you.

second, you can buy chargers for just about any phone for $5 off the internet. its not that big of a deal.

you already know what is important, so im not going to repeat myself

it would RAISE profits possibly on a per item basis, but would lower them overall because fewer would be needed and thus sold...Just a little preview for what you would be learning in Business 102 next semester 🤣

Except there is always wear & tear that occurs & is counted on by EVERY manufacturer ... sometimes so much so that they use inferior products to ensure failure within a couple years. Expect these things to last about as long as the warrantee lol

I always wondered how companies can get products to last just long enough sometimes. A lot of time and engineering must be spent to ensure this 😡

Actually, I pay $3 for the regulated car chargers and sell them for $24.99 in my store. I sell every one I order. Selling them for $5 won't pay the bills.

It's also in an effert to go GREEN - standardizing phone ports means you dont have to get new chargers everytime you switch phones and more importantly means your old stuff wont end up at the bottom of a landfill.

Why does everything always come down to 'get the iphone'?! GO TO AT&T IF YOU WANT THE DAMNED IPHONE! I hope TMO NEVER gets the iphone, personally i think its totally overrated and really sick of hearing that argument!

T-Mobile's 3g currently covers 212 million POPs (Where people actually live). Your beloved Apple carrier covers 220 million giving them a whopping 1.03% larger 3g coverage area than T-Mobile. T-Mobile will have HSPA+ launching by the end of the year in all 3g network areas which gives max data speeds of up to 21mbps. From what I have read the current (could be upgraded in the future) max data speeds on Sprints 4g is 12mbps. 🙄
