Android + Flash + Atom CPU = Disaster

Before the thing finally sent me over the edge and was auctioned off on eBay, I had a netbook with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom CPU that couldn't manage to view a web page with even a hint of Flash content without freezing everything up for 15-45 seconds at a time. Seeing as most if not all current Android phones support Flash Lite content and Android 2.2 is slated to support Flash in a much more complete way, coupling Android smartphones with Intel Atom CPUs will be an absolute disaster unless this new line of Atom CPUs will be radically different (i.e., far better performing) than the first Atoms. No smartphone user who quickly and frequently surfs the Web on the go is going to put up with that kind of lackluster performance for very long.

Because the next Android smartphone will have a CPU faster than 1.6 GHz? Point me in the direction of the specs and I'll agree with you. Think before you speak. 🙄

Take a long walk off a short pier.

If you don't think Android will optimize Flash w/ the Atom chip then you're sadly mistaken.

LOL, are you 12? You couldn't even answer the post the first time with anything constructive. "My netbook is special and it plays Flash perfectly even though everyone else in the world with a netbook complains that Flash is an absolute resource hog on even the best of PCs ... but mobile phones are classically more powerful than PCs so it's better. No, I'm not wrong. Go walk off a pier, DERRRRRRRRRRR." 🙄

That's funny. Flash plays fine on my home computer. What are you using? An abacus?
