If so, when? And will Cingular be the one selling it?

That's the rumor.

Nokia said it is coming to the U.S. with a major carrier. Given that it is a special version with GSM 850 and WCDMA 1900, that can really only mean Cingular.

A lot of Nokia Phones have PTT - like the one that Cingular carried for one week 6680 had PTT...

New Nokia Phones PTT comes with it, only if Cingular is gonna promote & use it. 🙄

Lots of Nokia phones technically have PTT... but for now it's the PoC standard, which is incompatible with the Kodiak system used by Cingular.

I'm sure Nokia will start offering Kodiak-compatible PTT phones before too long. Nokia likes open industry standards like Java and PoC, but they offer BREW phones for Verizon, so I'm sure they will offer Kodiak PTT phones, since both Cingular and Orange (a large Euro carrier) have picked Kodiak.

And it's no wonder... Kodiak may be proprietary, but it just beats the pants off PoC in both performance and features. It's one thing for Nokia to stick by standards when they are better or equal, but I really don't see them taking a serious stand in defense of a clearly inferior technology.
