12 megapixel camera?
More megapixels does not equal better photos, and cramming 12 megapixels into a cellphone's camera is pure marketing. Not that any camera phone does well in low light, but I'd expect this one to be particularly terrible.

Agreed. Anything over 2 megapixels is wasted online, and really, where are most pictures taken with a phone going to go? More megapixels only help for enlargements when printing photos. If I want to take a picture for an 8x10 or larger, I'll use my digital slr instead of my phone.

I had a Nokia N82 with a 5 MP camera. While the file size of the photos were smaller than with a larger sensor stand alone 5 MP camera, the xenon flash made all the difference compared to an LED flash cameraphone. I currently carry a Nexus One and, while I love the phone and the Andriod OS, the photos from it's 5 MP camera are noticeably inferior to the Nokias. I don't expect anyone to shoehorn in a larger sensor anytime soon, but I expect the increased resolution, coupled with the xenon flash will result in perfectly useable casual shots. There are times when carrying an extra bit of gear is just a pain and I like the idea of a cameraphone capable of getting a good shot in a pinch. Your argument is noted. And no one cares. This debate was firey 5 years ago. Nokia used better optics, glass lenses and other software to enhance the photo, and their camera modules have always been top notch. And.. everyone hypes their phones with marketing. Stop being so 2005.
