@evrodude - I'm still trying to figure out how a company with a Liquid Damage Indicator on their phones can be classified as arragant.

The LDI doesn't just turn red when you drop it in water. It can be due to moisture as well so if you have your phone in the bathroom playing music while you take hot showers it will turn as well.

So lady sueing cause her LDI is red? Tough luck. I'm not an Apple fan but I hate sue happy people.

I partially agree with you...and I am an Apple Fan Boy...

The problem I have with the iPhone is that the indicators are placed on the charging port and the headphone jack. These are clearly open to the air. Other manufacturers put it behind the batter door or even behind the battery itself. With the iPhone, if it is a humid day or even if you are sweating, the indicators could turn. That wouldn't happen in any other phone as it would take a good amount of moisture to penetrate the battery door.

But, I've worked in wireless for almost three years and I've had my fair share of customers claim that they've never gotten their phone wet. That it has never seen water. Most of those people don't know about the indicators and caught in a lie....

Wow, imagine that: They put the LCI's right where moisture is most likely to enter the phone. 🙄

Really, people just don't understand that moisture damage doesn't absolutely have to result from spilling something on a phone. Being inside the pocket of a sweaty person on a hot day could do the job.

If you drop phones in water, find and remove the moisture sensors before you claim it "just stopped working" and send it back in. Easily done on Blackberries at least. The stickers are half off in the battery compartments sometimes when you get the phones 🤣

or just suck it up and admit the the mistake
or maybe she has a valid claim 😕

you could TRY that w/ a BB BUT.... on most bb's there's another LDI hidden under the trackball. Plus, if the LDI is removed it voids any warranty. Phone companies aren't stupid.

Not to mention the fact that the LDI's are more likely to come off as a result of being wet...

I am sure it voids warranties, but I have known plenty of people that have done this sucessfully (not me)
If you have another old phone around that escaped being dunked in water you can use those 😁

You resemble that remark. You know this woman dropped the phone in something.
