When you could just hold out maybe a couple more months for the real thing?

Evo is a nice phone, but spec wise (excepting the screen and 4g connectivity) it's pretty close to this device.

Exactly, that's why I assumed it was the EVO. The iPhone is a nice and all but people have to realize it's not the end-all, be-all device. Android has made alot of strides from its humble G1 beginnings. I'm satisfied with my Pre, until the EVO comes out that is.

EVO has this over the Incredible...

4G
Bigger Screen
1500mhz vs. 1300mhz battery
3G/4G WIFI hotspot for up to 8 devices
TWICE the amount of ROM memory
Front facing camera
720p HD video recording
HDMI output for TV
Kickstand

Yeah I am referring to the EVO. I could be wrong but I also didn't see anything about an HDMI out on this thing or the WiFi hot spot.

Look man, most of us are nothing like our equine counterparts...

And Anti-Apple folks are funny. They have sub-par phones and defend them like there is no tomorrow!

As cool as the iPhone is, I like my Droid better. Physical keyboard, albeit cramped is nice, but I really am grooving on the open platform. Nobody can tell me what apps I can or cannot get, and I can hack this thing to do just about anything: custom ROMs, Wifi tethering, etc. The only thing I don't like is that for as powerful of a phone as it is, there isn't much out there to push the graphics the droid can display, but software will catch up.

I'm not saying there isn't a place for the iPhone, but I do think Google's on to something with their open platform.

is defiantly inferior.

Do you really think OS4.0 and the new iphone will be as different as they (most likely) will be if it wasn't for pressure from android?

I prefer telling my phone what to do, not having it tell me what I'm allowed to use it for. If that makes me a fan of inferior tech, then so be it.

Dude, you and I both know Android wouldn't exist without Apple.

actually it would. Android was in development BEFORE the first iphone announcement. It didn't look anything like what eventually became the G1, but android would still exist.

Because in a couple of months after "THE REAL THING" hits, another really real thing will be looming. Then what will you do?? 🤣
