Totally agreed

The promo price is very expensive I think they need to offer lower price or discount the $100 of the mailing rebate.

I agree, they are a lot and do a lot. For the price they are worth it. Small investment for a helpful tool.

When you order online its a instant rebate. Anything besides online has to go throught mail-in rebate.

But at this price, I'd wait for a price drop or until the EVO 4G and see if they lower it.

Anyways....I'll prolly switch to Sprint for the EVO 4G instead.

Debit cards/rebates have been discussed a lot on here. There are a certain percentage of the rebates that either never get sent in, get lost in the mail or are done incorrectly. If they took it off the top and wanted to get the same money for the phone, they may only be able to give you for example $80 off.

A lot of money but also a lot of phone with the camera and high end processor. Unsubsidized it would be a fortune no doubt.

Nothing wrong with my comments below. What is wrong is the way you interpreted them.

Be easy on the kid. Apparently he does not realize what unsubsidized means. Try full retail price or the price without a contract. Maybe that will help.

🤣
fair enough...ok, my apologies...just replace everything I ever said about "unsubsidized" with "full retail price" or "the price without a contract" and were all good 😁

I must remember these things better 🤭

if you are worried about your mail-in rebate, send it off as certified mail from the post office. you will get it back within 10 days.

as far as the price of the phone goes, it's an 8mp, 3G, 3.7 inch touch screen smartphone with a 1GHz processor. this isn't a low-end phone, and it's priced the same as the Motorola Droid, which features a slower processor, lower res camera and smaller touch screen.

if $300 is too much for you, then this phone is too much for you.

People are just too used to buy one get 10 free promos. This is an expensive device, you're going to have to pay for the bells and whistles.

I don't see any of the new phones being too cheap. I'd imagine the EVO will be in the same range, if not higher, when it comes out. The next iPhone isn't going to be cheap- just where the technology has taken us.

199 is NOT a lot to pay for a smartphone like this.

and the 100 MiR is standard for smartphones. This will most likely be instant online like every other MiR

But seriously.... it's a 550+ phone, and you are complaining that you have to pay only 1/3 of the cost (1/2 before the MiR)

It may not be a lot of cash for what you're getting. I kept my Curve until the 8530 was 29.99.

since i'm a phone scooper i'm entitled to bitch and moan about the phone prices. I should be able to get this extremely expensive and awesome phone for free and still get the MIR. I've been a customer for so many years that they should pay me to purchase this phone because i'm a phone scooper.

i wish that complaint was limited to Phonescooper's only. the sad reality is most telecom company customers have an over inflated sense of entitlement, but on the other hand it is the fault of the carriers for catering to the demands of the ultra frugal yet tech savy.

but they'll line up to buy the overpriced garbage from apple without hesitation!

And therein lies the problem. If anything, Apple's device is way unerpriced on a 2 year contract. It should be selling for twice what it is now on a 2 year contract, as wholesale it is rudely expensive.

They're selling a Rolls Royce Phantom for the price of a Honda Accord.

There is no such thing as an "Apple fan", they are called Apple fanatics, or Apple radicals. People who are fans of Apple are in a cult!

The original iphone at launch was 599... does no one remember that? This beauty of a device is a "bugatti" compared to that silly "rolls royce" iphone you talk about.... and 3 hundred less at launch...

The Incredible like the Bugatti Veyron, which is sold at half the cost of wholesale. Yes, VW loses a couple million dollars every time they sell a Veyron! This is the same way with the $500+ (estimated, it could be nearly $600 wholesale at launch) Incredible, which apparently will sell for $300 with a $100 rebate. That's a crazy price deal, crazy good for the consumer, crazy bad for the retail store that sells it.

The devices have the same retail (approximately) and the same 2 year pricing.. and yet apple generates more revenue per device than any other company. (before apps)

this means, if anything, their 2 year pricing is too high.
