No iPad coverage... seriously?

One of the largest cell phone companies in the world has just created a new mobile product and it sold over 300,000 units in one day.

Not a word from "phone scoop"

I mean, besides the fact that it will soon ship with AT&T coverage...

Uhhh last time I checked the iPad wasn't a phone. If you think because it is "mobile" that it should be on PHONE SCOOP, then you also think that all netbooks, laptops, and portable gaming systems should be covered as well.

Personally, I don't care about the iPad at all, it's not a phone.

I would like to see iPad info on phonescoop. I don't think they HAVE to, but it would attract more visitors of the site and the more visits they get is more money for them, so being that its the TALK right now I think its a no brainer that they should cover some press on it. 😉

Here's a tip: iPad is not a phone...

*PHONE*scoop doesn't cover Tablets: They cover PHONES!!!

Sorry if that's a bit rude... but whoptie doo iCrap has an overpriced, underperforming, overrated tablet that won't do half of what tablets are supposed to do.

THANK YOU PhoneScoop for *NOT* pushing a story about it.

Phonescoop covers netbooks, data sticks, lawsuits and anything that relates to the major wireless carriers and cell manufactures.

At least until now.

Why are you so threatened by Apple that you are calling names? haha, "iCrap"

I feel like I am in Jr.High sometimes with people like you.

I speak negatively of Apple because I dislike them as a business and as a fashion statement. For me, they have *ALWAYS* been form over function.

Less options, less control, less ability... for more price and more "cool".

It has nothing to do with being threatened. They make decent products. Last year when I upgraded my phone, I got an iPhone because it was the best phone out.

Now that the others have caught up, that's no longer the case. My next phone will be an Android, or a Pre, or maybe even a 7 (depending on what's good when I'm due an upgrade). They *ALL* compete directly, and in a *LOT* of areas have surpassed Apple.

You can call it Jr. High if you want. I'll continue to be very vocal of my distain for anything Apple. I th...

So when are you due for an upgrade?
Are you going to stay w/ATT? I left ATT after 8yrs, got the Droid and am now w/Vzn.

My GF & Family are on AT&T, and happy. I pay for my part of the bill and everyone is happy.

I got my iPhone a year or so ago. Haven't checked exactly when I'm due an upgrade, but I'm also kinda waiting to see what the next round of iPhones and Androids (and possibly 7/Palm) on AT&T turns into this fall.

Also might switch to Sprint *IF* Sprint hits my area with 4G (Doubt that) or if my GF puts my in the doghouse (she really hates me at times lol).

Well AT&T is due to get 4 more Android's in the coming months. One of which I hear might be the SE X10, but do your research! Cause the X10 has neither 2.1 nor multitouch (lacking in the hardware, not the software) *BIG* FK up on SE's end. There are going to be people who have the X10 and see other people with Android smartphones that DO have multitouch and be like WTF why don't I?!!?

I'm sure it won't be much longer before ATT has more Androids in there stable.

And about WiMAX, well what city do you live in?

Southern Delaware... probably the next to last place to get 4G, of any flavor. I'm taking bets that AT&T will hit here first with LTE. Who knows.

Yeah... the Backflip has me weary of anything subsidized from AT&T. Yahoo Android phone just leaves me feeling dirty inside.

I haven't really looked into rumors of what AT&T might be getting, but I'm hoping that at the worst we'll get at least one nice Android.

Or a Palm that isn't neutered like the backflip.

Last God help us with 7. Excited but I know Microsoft *LOVES* screwing up V1 releases.

Otherwise I'll have to pony up for a N1 (or whatever the new flavor is 6 months from now). OR Worst case, go with an Evo/Droid depending on their offerings 6 month from now.

Southern Deleware, does that mean not close to D.C.?
Wow, you think ATT will have LTE there before even Vzn?!!?Vzn said they intend to have their whole network overlaid with LTE by 2013.

My next Droid ("Droid 2"? Maybe) will probably be 4G. I live in Las Vegas, we already have WiMAX here, and will likely be among the first 30 cities to get Vzn 4G (just a guess is all).

In my area, probably.

Look up 21804 on http://maps.google.com. I'm north of there. A lot of farmland, swamps and wasted area around me.

Not the worst place in the world... but we are a pit stop on the way.

I looked up the population of the zip code you gave me, 31,000 as of the 2000 census. That's almost 10,000 less than where Menno lives.

Well I would say where you live & work are the most important places to have good coverage with 3G, those are the places you spend the most time @. Vzn works better for me @ both my work and where I live than ATT did, so far.

While the ipad is news, I was not surprised to find by interviews and raves that most of the lines of people waiting to get it, were Mac and iphone Owners/Users. If you break down the ipad, it is essentially a huge ipod touch. My Wife's friend was able to get one. We got to play with it for awhile. Quite interesting and great looking. Smaller than I expected. But she is returning it. She was disappointed it didn't do more. She was expecting a replacement for her laptop. Even though extensive news and emphasis was given that it was only a bridge between phone and laptop, some were expecting more. Personally, I'm not sold on this type of category.

While ipad is different in being able to do more, the Kindle didn't get much news either.
