I hope I die before the day an Iphone is available for big red. I am so sick of hearing...

"Hey when are you guys gettin' da iphone?"

WHO CARES?

The Iphone is old news. It's been outdone. WEB OS? ANDROID? Heard of them?

And yes, I have seen the clever commercials on the tv box. Yes, I know the Iphone is shiny. Yes, I know my bra Mikey has one. But none of that impresses me.

The general public is so brainwashed by these Apple ads. People could say...

"Ya man, I'm just gonna wait for da Iphone and it's sweet apps"

and I could say "oh ya, how 'bout dis phone dawg... it does everything the iphone does and more. It'll even make you breakfast, literally."

And then they'd say "ya but does it sync with itune...

iPhone OS like Android and like WebOS are not static, there are improvements and upgrades. And to be honest this is a good for all platforms.

Hahahaha...this post had me in stitches. 🤣

In either case, yeah, I feel the same way. I was speaking with a customer who said that she'd cancel all of her lines of service if I didn't tell her which Verizon Wireless phone was most similar to the iPhone without giving her any extra information. I mean, Heaven forbid I ask her how she intended to use the phone...

It'll be unfortunate just how many people pass on Android if Verizon Wireless happens to carry the iPhone. Really, this goes for all carriers, I suppose, but I was hoping that we'd never get the iPhone.

Sure, having the iPhone to offer to customers will make a lot of customer happy, but most of them are making the decision to purchase an iPhone because it's trendy, not be...

Yeah, im sick of people coming in here asking "when are you guys going to get the iphone?? Thats what I really want, not that ugly droid thing!"

The droid does serious work, Android is the future, if you don't like the way it looks just get the Eris.

This is how I look at the entire situation:

Why would I support apple, who for the last decade or two has over priced everything they sell, made it as near impossible for 3rd party developer support as they could manage, and monopolized every aspect of their consumer process, from manufacturing, to sales, to repairs; While Google on the other hand has been giving me free maps, search results, language translation, and even gave me a grant for college. Now theyve made an operating syst...

Yeah, to be honest, an Eris should be everything (and more) that an iPhone user wants. I have an Eris, personally. I just prefer its more compact size, as well as Sense UI.

I couldn't agree with you more. Get an itouch (if you really have that much Apple love) and a phone that actually works. I love my Eris!

This bickering is ridiculous. AT&T sold 3.2 million iphones in one quarter. Why WOULDN'T Verizon want to get in on the act? Why would any commissioned rep or rep who receives a short term incentive not want the company to sell more phones REGARDLESS of what platform it runs or who manufactured it or if Satan made it himself. It's not Red or Blue that matters but Green.

I'm sure that Verizon Wireless DOES want in on the act. And yes, green is ultimately all that matters to the company. I'm sure that new signups will skyrocket once Verizon Wireless gets the iPhone. I'd never push an iPhone over an Android phone based on iPhone's current state. It should be old news, but it remains a hot topic of discussion because people will buy anything with an Apple logo on it.

Exactly! I never wanted to sell a Motorola Razr but I didn't argue with a customer who insisted on buying one. I did make sure that I gave my opinion on the phone in a nice way so that if they did complain later they could not say that they were not warned about poor battery life, blah, blah etc...

If some guy insists on buying an iphone because it is cool...SELL IT TO HIM.

Do you work on commission? Why wouldn't you want every device available? What do you care WHY someone buys a phone as long as it puts extra money in your pocket?

I don't work on commission. Furthermore, unlike some people, I try to get people into the correct phone for their needs, not based on what their friends told them to get. It's only responsible to quality a customer for the right product for their needs. You'd find that people would be happier with their devices if they didn't want phones based on status.

Why should I look forward to offering the iPhone? So Apple can release a new one with minor improvements every six months and have numerous customers calling in, claiming that their old iPhones aren't working to weasel their way into getting the new ones (or generally just whining about it)? I get phones based on what I want in a device from a functionality standpoint, and I do my homewor...

You don't work on commission? Sounds like you work in tech. Call center? You get a short term incentive, if so and I am going to say this the only way I can...HUSH. You think Verizon likes seeing AT&T win the quarterly wars SOLELY based on their having the iphone? 3.2 million new iphone activations and you don't think SOME of those were VZW customers? Get your head out of your *BLEEP* please! The whole idea that you wouldn't want an iphone as a churn buster at the least and a money maker is simply ludicrous.

We are tired of...

customer
"when y'all gettin' da iphone dawg?"

non customer
"you like the iphone huh? what if i say i can beat it? look at this."

(demos several phones)

customer
"ya man, i just really like all the apps tho man. i'm waiting for da iphone."

it makes us shake our heads and causes cus to lose hope for mankind.

Yes, call center, although it's Customer Service. We don't get commission. Yes, there are spiffs, but I never let extra money sway my approach to how I do things. And yes, I'm very much familiar with STI. I realize that Verizon Wireless doesn't like losing people solely because of the iPhone, as well.

However, that doesn't change the fact that people want phones based on how cool they look and inevitably turn around and whine when they're anything less than perfect (as any phone, even everyone's beloved iPhone, is). I find it pretty hard to believe that I've had one replacement in my nine years as a customer (and I've only worked for the company for around three years), yet there are people out there who go through dozens and dozens of ph...

It takes all kinds of people. The longer you work in the service industry...the lower your opinion of the general public will become. Seriously. I'm not saying that you are wrong in your belief, but ultimately you have to let the customer decide what they want to spend their money on. I have seen guys talk themselves out of sales because they TOLD the customer what phone they should buy. I started out as an agent selling GTE and Suncom (yeah, back in the dark Ages). I knew GTE had better coverage, service what have you, but Suncom had cheaper phones and weaker credit standards. I would talk GTE up, customer would either insist on the cheap Startac or fail credit with GTE. Should I let them walk because I knew GTE was the better carri...

Yeah but does the Android phone fist pump for me? And does it let me know when I have enough toner rubber into my body? Can it take a picture of my lips so I know I have enough cherry chapstick on them?

No? Brah why not?!?!?

Never mind brah, I got a Baby Blue show to hit up. Ever heard of her? No brah? You better stay chill or me and my boys might TUNE YOUR ASS UP!

Epic post, indeed the time for apple to jump ship has come and gone, unfortunately I fear for them it will not be the sucess they had on ATT and will be done in 6 months....I wonder what they will do when ATT realizes all they need to do is let their androids be open, and then they wont have to cow tow to apple? 😲
