In all respect to you, Field Force Manager has been nothing but a headache for my Colleague's business. It had done nothing but wreak havoc on their devices. Lockups. Battery and Signal indicators rendered useless. Battery life considerably shortened. Slightly less than a quarter of clients info never made it back to the hub office(Thank God for still practicing keeping paper logs). They trial ran it for a month. VZW was given ample time to fix the issues. Nothing fixed them. They dropped the FFM.

Most businesses using Nextel's "Direct Connect", are Construction Contractors, Truckers, Delivery Services, many emergency related services as well as others. There is no quicker or reliable service than Nextel's Direct Connect for these business operations. Sprint's relation to Nextel's issues were mostly billing related and trying to integrate two opposing technologies. The billing issues have been overcome and Sprint's smart move to cease the integration has eliminated issues as well. Since Nextel's Network was solely built and based on Walkie Talkie rather than the standard voice transmission, it will be very difficult if next to impossible to duplicate the signifcant reliability and speed of Direct Connect. AT&T and VZW have also tamed their push for PTT for Obvious reasons. Direct Connect is a specialty technology. Yes. Data is an issue for IDEN. It wasn't built for this. But it is functional if needs arise to browse.

VZW is great for Voice and Data. However, VZW as well as yourself, need to recognize the limitations on your parts. They are not the Master of everything. Nextel most certainly reigns in this area of communication.
