I am sitting in IAH at this very moment and cannot get service with my Clear aircard.

Then again, I can never get service at the airport in Austin but I can get it everywhere else. Why does this seem to be an issue at airports, Clear?

Probably due to security concerns. Valid, I'd say. I can totally understand not getting service at the airport.

I can't. Other networks work there just fine. It would be unfair to single out Wi-Max.

I would say that the other networks have a picocells or some other system in the airport. Clear probably doesn't have systems like those in place yet. Being a new network they are probably going for broad coverage first then doing the fine tuning and fill in work over time. It is going to be a bit before everything matures to the level of what all the other networks currently have. 4G is a completely new network for all carriers so they all will go through the same process of fine tuning and filling in holes.
