AT&T and Apple are in bed together and AT&T can't afford to do anything to piss Apple off right now honestly. Apple is ruthless. There can't be a better explanation unless AT&T is claiming that it's "protecting" it's users which I feel is complete and utter B.S.

Hmmm I guess it is good that people have that option to get an unlocked phone, albeit expensive but that is the beauty of WCDMA/GSM isn't it? I can't see myself getting a Wimax phone when the rest of the world will be using LTE. Wider selection of phones, unlocking, etc.
