I'm assuming something at or slightly higher than 199 (after rebates, with new contract). That seems to be the sticking price point for phones.. though being the first wimax phone, and having a screen like that.. 299 is feasible imo. It all depends on how much wimax plans will be.

So you think Sprint's existing "everything" plans wont cover the cost of having this new Evo? Like, they'll add one of those wack data plans like vzw and at&t use?

Current Everything plans won't cover this (I think) because they don't cover wimax data.

Remember, if their VOIP tests are successful, there might even be text/data only plans.

It is possible that the everything plans will cover it, but I doubt it simply because wimax usage (which is not capped) is going to be HUGE.

This is faster than a lot of people's landline connections.. remember that.

If I was in an area with wimax I would have their hotspot mifi already and junk the stupid dsl I'm stuck with.

it will be new data plans to cover just like the data cards use cause the 3g 5gig data card plans weren't supportive on the 4g cards so look for new plans to be avaliable..

or it could just be possible feature add ons needed to make it work just like BB's need for BIS to work which is how I hope they do it..

I'm hoping they just make it an addon. $20 for the 4g data and then $40 or so for the hotspot app.

It'll be the same plan. Just like connection cards are the same price for 3g only or 3g/4g, the phones will be the same price. Sprint is about bringing value, not trying to get every dime possible from customers.

There may be some different codes- just like the BlackBerry phones have different codes on the Everything Data plans to make them work- but they are the same plan, same features, and same price.

The only thing that costs extra on the plans now is if you need access to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, and that is only because it costs Sprint to provide the access.

I see your point....I probably will have to lose my any mobile anytime plan that I love so much in order to get the new phone...but then again if it's as hot as I think it will be then it'll be worth it!!! EVO 4G here I come!!!

The AMAT feature is included with all Data plans and is a major Sprint selling point... I don't see it being lost with the addition of 4G data.

I wonder how the heck they came up with the name "Evo", maybe it's short for Evolution, you think?

Question, this is really frustraling, I thought that when you want to remove something from the homescreen that you simply drag n drop the icon to the bottom of the screen, it just doesn't seem to be that simple, can I get some help here?

When you drag it to the bottom the the screen, it removes the shortcut to that app.

Think of it like a desktop for your computer. Stuff on your screen are shortcuts to the actual apps.

To remove something, go into the marketplace, hit the menu key, select downloads. Then select the file you want to uninstall and choose remove.

There is also a quick uninstall app on the marketplace (but I forget the name)

It's called Easy Uninstall. I already have it.
It's moving shortcuts that I'm having a hard time with, I stopped in a Vzn store, and I have to be very precise with when I let my finger off the app that I'm trying to get off my homescreen, I'm suppose to let go the very moment the little black tab @ the bottom of the screen turns red, and well so far I'm having a hard time with it.

But the Vzn guy showed me how to setup the pattern lock, so/that's good. I haTe unintentional operations!!!

BTW, I'm still trying to find some games to help me pass the time while I'm on the bus & @ work.

I finally found a game that I enjoy!!!
It's called Raging Thunder Lite, Lite as in free. It utilizes the accelerometer, and it's a driving sort of game.

Not just racing/driving games, but I would like any games that utilize the accelerometer, maybe a game where I'm tilting the screen to avoid objects or being shot, do you know any along those lines?

if he was right, they would announce this at the release. this would really drum up word of mouth for the phone.

The only reason I can see them not releasing pricing at this announcement was because they are working on new tiers.

And it could be they are making an addon. like Everything Data+4g for x per month.

I really don't think so. Nothing I've seen indicates a higher price for the 4g phone.

Those that are saying the phone will be $199 may be low though. I don't see it coming out cheaper than the Touch Pro 2. I'd expect $299 after a $100 MIR- so $400 out of pocket at purchase for the phone.

This sounds realistic and I hope for WiMax's sake, they do keep the price within reach. There is no better way to demonstrate a product, than having everyday users being able to showcase it around town to other potential buyers. If it is out of reach, the point would be lost.

That's the price I'm more than willing to pay. 199.99 would be way 2 cheap for the Evo most phones in that price range have one 3.2mp camera, smaller display, no 4g support, and definitely no hmdi port or kick stand. 🤣 It will be atleast 400.00 with a 100mir so the low ballers will be left out big time! 😛 You can count me in! 😎

Not sure about that Menno. When the Instinct and Pre were announced, pricing was not revealed until 2 weeks before launch.

The instinct and Pre both run on current 3g bands though. From what I understand of sprint plans, the current big argument is what new phones with work with SERO plans.

I think it would be a great thing if Sprint did the same thing with the Evo that Vzn did with the Pre Plus, enable it to be used as a wifi hotspot.

Btw, I'm getting better with my Droids physical kb!
