It is a Google phone, not offered by ATT. It is like if you bought an unlocked phone and activated it.
...
Fck ATT, you are my technical support, also the forums of all the Android centric sites I have bookmarked.

Any idea how mms/internet settings work on an unlocked N1? Jason is having a MAJOR surje in temptation right NOW. Very, very tempted!!!! I might just do it!!! $529 no charge for shipping, no taxes. Oooh, I'm tempted!!!!

lol.. ironically my name is also Jason.
Internet is 3g, mms is also data, so I'm assuming just like other 3g ATT phones (I haven't had a GSM device since Voicestream) mms requires data to be unblocked.
Even though this is technically an unlocked phone, I'm not sure if you can continue using your 10 a month plan for it. It might be in the system so it requires a 30. I was talking to a guy the other day.. he used 12GB last month streaming podcasts/youtube etc.
...
Well how bout that, we're both fellow Jason's!
Somehow I've got a feeling it might be a good idea to wait for some website to post a review of this *newer* N1 to see if Google & HTC fixed any of the problems the Tmo N1 had. I heard the soft touch buttons at the bottom had some problems.
If you find out before I do that a website has a review up of the NAM 3G N1 please send me a link!
Lets just say I'm trying very hard not to make an impulse buy right now! One positive thing is I'm pretty sure it'll fit in my nice brown leather case that I bought from Pocket Solutions 2+yrs ago for my N95.

According to the ATT rep posting in here, as long as google followed normal procedure with the device, it should allow the 10 a month plan. but nothing official yet
...
Hmm, too good to be true? Well, I think I'm going to wait for there to be a slew of reviews b4 jumping the gun.
I wonder how long it'll take for Android Central/Android Guys and so on to get reviews up on their persective websites. I want to know if this is a better improved N1 than the Tmo N1, as we all know that one had some problems.

I will tell you this, I use a Rogers Canada Magic on AT&T and have data, sms, and mms, just have to set the apn's on the phone. Takes under 5 mins to do.
...
Interesting, so how exactly do I go about setting the APNs??? See, on unlocked/unbranded Nokia's it does this all automatically.
...
Yes, Nokia and SE pull it off the towers, they're not hard to find, and easy to do. The N1 might already have them in place for AT&T and Rogers, since it is aimed at those two carriers.
The APN settings as well as instructions are on the bottom of this url.

Hmm, this url is for the G1. Doesn't the apn settings have to be specific to ATTs network?
And btw, there is a cut off time for overnight delivery, did it specify? Who does Google use? UPS, FedEx, USPS? Because of the kind of living situation I live in I'd prefer USPS, and pick it up @ the post office. Theres like frinkin 7 mail boxes where I live @. And I DON'T want it delivered to ANYBODY but !!ME!!
...
Don't pay attention to the phone, the settings are what you need. They should work for any phone. Its the same site I used for the APN settings on my HTC Dream.
...
Jay, those are AT&T's APN settings, they will work. Doesn't make a difference what phone.
...
That's a negative unless AT&T actually starts selling the phone.
What kind of tech support would you be looking for? Other than troubleshooting call quality, there isn't much they can do.
Warranty and everything would go through Google.

I currently use an Iphone 3GS, and because I use a hosted Exchange service for my email/contacts/calendar, I have the unlimited Enterprise Iphone data plan. If I was to switch to the Nexus One, and want to continue using the Microsoft Exchange functions of the phone, what data plan do I need to switch to? I want something that has unlimited data, unlimited text, and enterprise (exchange) capability. Thanks!
...

It depends on what kind of exchange service you're using. Android still doesn't function with all of them because it doesn't allow things like remote wipe as a default
...
I use a hosted exchange, not my own or my company's. I don't need remote wipe. I have been using this service for years.... push email, sync contacts/calendar/tasks/notes. That's all I need. I know that I may not get the notes part with Android, and I've read that for some reason the Nexus One (at least the TMO version) doesn't allow Exchange to sync calendar (no problem, I can sync my calendar w/gmail). The only thing I REALLY rely on is email and contact sync, but because of the way I have my job / email set up, I can't use the gmail address.... I need to use my own address via Microsoft Exchange. I would imagine the data plan I need is similar to all of the other smartphone plans? Like $40-$45 a month?
...
If they try to sell you that PDA with Exchange data for $45, don't take it. The personal plan for $30 will work, but you may not even need that. If AT&T doesn't recognize the model, they can't force you to get a certain data plan, now can they?
Years ago, I had exchange working on an 8525 with just a standard, no frills data plan. If you have unlimited messaging, you're looking at $10, otherwise $15.
It's my understanding that the only difference between the standard ($10 - $15) data and the smartphone data is the APN, which shouldn't block exchange.
I can't say for sure if it will work (this is the Internet, take everything with a couple packs of salt), but I would try the standard one, and if for some reason it doesn't work, sw...
