that's what it's called. you can't afford it...dont buy it. I made sure i have a job where i make good enough money so i can afford to pay for internet so my wife can go to college online (which we pay for ourselves w/out government help). there are a lot of things that i'd like to have but cannot afford it.
why does the government think that everyone deserves to have broadband internet? we only deserve what we work to achieve. nothing more.

then i go on unemployment until i find a new job. if we have to cut back, we cut back. if you take responsibility for your life and own it you'll be ok. dont expect hand outs because that makes you dependant on everyone else. dont be a mooch. make due. if i have to work at mc donalds to pay the bills i will work at mc donalds.

Theres a whole lot of people there that have been unemployed for 20 months because they want to find employment that pays the same as they had before rather than settle for whatever they can find. Some $ is better than no $.

I hire people and I am sympathetic to their plight. I feel really bad when I get an applicant that I cannot hire because I am fully staffed. When someone sharp comes along I try to find a way to hire them.
But when the majority of applicants come in with a crummy appearance because they just woke up or they are not even interested in my company's needs and how they can meet our needs I don't feel so bad sending them away.
"Have a little bit more self respect and dignity. look me in the eye and let me see your character." is what I want to say.

I can't tell you how many applicants I've sent home because they showed up for their interview looking like they slept in a dumpster after partying all night.

AMEN!
I am in basically the same boat as you with a decent job and paying for the wifes college. I am so sick of the "underprivileged" getting handouts. Work, save, pay, and deal with lifes hardships!

I'm there with you. I have a college degree and I'm working in a call center simply because it pays better than most jobs in this area. My wife is in med school and in the third and fourth row you don't have much choice in where you end up. We're in an area that isn't the greatest as far as jobs are concerned.
Yet, we manage to do just fine. Sure, we don't get everything we may want, yes tuition to a private school is high, particularly post graduate studies. But it isn't the government's place to provide for us, or for anyone else. Unless someone is totally physically disabled, they can get a job to make ends meet. It may mean you don't get to buy a new car every year, it may mean you settle for a 26 inch TV instead of a 50 inch screen,...

That's right. I row my boat and you row yours. This does not mean that I don't choose to give you a hand when you need it, But that is my choice, not a mandate. When it is my choice I am generous just like you all are.
