*Cough* FANBOY *COUGH*

I carry a Palm Pre, HTC Hero and BB Storm, the Pre is by far the easiest and most untuitive of the three phones I own. If Palm tanks it will be a shame, the Pre is a great phone. Sprint, however, is doing quite well.

Well I admit I'm a fan of Android lol. No denying that but you simply can't ignore the truth. No one cares about Palm. Palm was too little too late. Yes it's my opinion but the Pre is ugly, has a small keyboard that should have been landscape, it feels like cheap plastic and while webOS is innovative in it's own right, it has no freakin apps! Theres no momentum for it.

Let's check this here...

1) By comparison to the iPhone OS, both platforms have "no freakin' apps"

2) The Android app catalog has ~ 10k apps, but not all 10k of them run on all Android devices.

3) Filtering through the junk software in Android Marketplace, they're about even.

4) In terms of app quality, WebOS is the only OS to really approach the iPhone.

NFSU, Monopoly, and Let's Golf, when they arrived after the 1.3.5.1 update all run very smooth, even on the standard Sprint Pre and not just the Plus. Given that Palm is hitting some game developer conferences, I would expect it to only get better. Takes time for that inertia to build up...

And I can't think of a single way in which Android is a better OS either.

Beyond the Motorola Droid, to which Verizon Wireless (the nation's largest carrier) spent approximately 1/4th of the total device cost marketing, the Palm Pre has outsold and continues to outsell every other Android device by a healthy margin, especially the Nexus One.

As much as I hate answering your useless posts, I feel like setting the facts straight, since you refuse to research before posting anything.

Comscore's data does not distinguish between palm OS and web os. The combination of the two would expectedly be higher, as pals os has been around for much longer than android.

You didn't have to post that link honestly because no one in their right mind would actually believe that webOS has more market share than Android. That's just would be ludicrous.

Facts are facts. You can't argue them.

Which one is around now?

Or what about the alternative set up to QWERTY keyboards? or why Windows (the god-awful code blob that it is) overtook Apple IBM and others as the home computing powerhouse?

Android WILL NOT WIN because of one Flagship device. I highly doubt there will ever be an Android phone that sells as well as the Iphone did. But that's not the point. Android isn't an OS locked to 1-2 devices. So while something like the Droid might not ever sell as many units as the Iphone does in a quarter, the Droid+N1+Moment+Eris+Hero+etc. will eventually reach that number and pass it. Google (or Bing) it.

Your comscore numbers show that Palms Marketshare SHRUNK while Android's Grew. Yes, palm is still larger, but as oth...

Android is def. a great OS but the web os is nothing to frown upon. The multitasking card view is awesome and w/ this update its just a personall preference on which kind of phone to get. Very satisfied w/ my WEB OS phone Smile

Someone I work with has one. We swap phones when we're bored. It's an interesting concept. I still prefer android, but I can deff. see why people like WebOS (though they really need to make a larger handset if they want wider scale adoption.. the thing is downright tiny to me)

Palm may be a Good OS, but the problem is that there are way too many OS's on the Market. I like having choices, but software developers are not interested in writing a program for 30 different OS's. Many feel that by the end of 2010, there will be 5 major players left: 1) WinMO 2) Blackberry 3)Iphone 4) Android ( 5) Symbian). I intentionally put Symbian in parenthesis because it is a great OS but is not really represented to any significant scale in North America. I'm gonna guess the following OS's are going to fail(by market forces only): palm, bada, maemo, meego( not out but it won't matter because its too late). In a couple of years, the OS market will be very similar to the current pc market which is dominated by 3 flavors: windows, ...

From what I read.. it seems Samsung is positioning Bada as a "feature phone" like OS more than a smartphone one.

I want WebOS to do well, it has some amazing ideas and that competition makes everyone stronger.

Quite honestly, Android is only really acting as a "dead cat" bounce for jilted Windows Mobile manufacturers. There's no vision or organized development for the platform.

Beyond the initial marketing push and hype, there isn't any substance to back it up- you've got the ability to tinker with the OS, but Google, Motorola, and HTC won't give you the time of day if you brick it or something goes wrong. Awesome. (Ask Menno if he thinks his phone is still under warranty! Smile )

Google originally stated its mission was to let the hardware guys go out and go take the OS in exciting new directions, but then soon discovered that doesn't work too well, because they're hardware guys- Motorola's with Android because their own OS efforts were fai...
