Nexus One Syndrome

That's my new name for this.

The problem is that Motorola's recent blip came from extensive marketing support from Verizon pitching Android as a platform, which is handicapped at the moment by the Nexus One (which also ruined the Droid's title as Android poster child.)

That leaves Motorola with two things as their competitive advantage- excellent hardware design (what they used to be known for) , and BLUR. WinMo won't allow for the later, and Motorola's smartphones aren't their proudest efforts.

Look no farther than how Palm was doing before WebOS.

For what reason do you think Blur can't be put on a WinMo smartphone? Blur is just Moto's idea of HTC's Sense UI, right?

its less a matter of can it be done and more a matter of will microsoft allow it. Personally I hope they dont. While htc sense has a lot of convient features it bogs down the phone and is a memory hog. If Microsoft/windows phone wants to regain credibility in the smartphone world they need to create a super finger friendly, super customizable os that is not dependent on other companies running software on top of it. i.e htc sense.

Such features are already built into WinMo7, and they're not allowing for Sense-like customization.
