Is anyone buying the MOTOBLUR stuff? 😕
...
I have had a Motorola CLIQ since last year and I happened to love MOTOBLUR. It's a really cool feature. Now that AT&T has it and this BACKFLIP device looks awesome. Looks like I will be switching to AT&T.
...
You gonna switch to AT&T just for a phone? Unless you know they provide better coverage and call quality, than what you currently have, it's not a wise choice just for a phone. Especially something similar to the Cliq.
...
well the same thing happened with the iphone, then people got smart and learned how to unlock it and used it with T-mob, but... i dont see the masses flocking to AT&T just for the backflip
...
I like moto blur the demo on Motorola website is really cool. I just think the backflip is dumb looking.
...
Backflip is very, very dorky looking! I'd like it if ATTgot a version of the Motorola Milestone!
I'm ready to upgrade right now.
...
its possible because i do belive there is a gsm version of it in Europe, but im not sure because AT&T always have Luke Wilson make fun of it in the "anti-maps" commercial saying that its not a "cool smart phone"

I am probably one of the few PS members that is not an employee of a carrier. I laugh when I see posts that are entered to express a move to a different carrier. These posts appear to be a tool to try and promote the carrier they work for. Example: "Wow. This is awesome. I'm going to switch to ____". But in reality they already work for them. Most are on the wrong site to try manipulation tricks.
...
I'm a cell enthusiast/consumer also. And I don't get these employees 'promoting' their employer/carrier. It's a job people! A means to pay bills, keep food in the stomach and so on. These people don't wear a ring on their finger that says a carriers name.
If somebodies hours were to get cut you know damn well that person would get a job with another carrier.
Jobs are for paying bills, loyalty is for a wife.
...
I've worked for an at&t reseller and so for cost reason's i got at&t service ($20 a mo bill for unlimited txt/internet and 5k minutes cant be beat) but in no way am i loyal to any carrier over the other, heck i've had sprint twice t-mob twice (even when it was still voicestream)and now at&t. No service provider is perfect and right now im not under contract because i use my own n97 so when i comment its comming from a phone enthusist point of view not a corporate lacky (no offense to anyone at all) so Long Live The Cell phone and no jumping ship for a cell phone especially if its a GSM phone and you have a GSM provider and dont care about 3G vs EDGE
I have spoken 😲
...
So you have the N97. I've been using the N95 for over 2yrs. And all of a sudden it won't launch Opera Mini, I tried uninstalling, and reinstalling it, and the phone freezes during the installation process. I'm frinkin pissed that I can't get Opera Mini to work. And I hate S60's default browser, it just takes way too long to load webpages.
So I have been eagerly waiting to find out what Android smartphones ATT is going to pick up beyond the Backflip.
...
i used the n95 before and didnt have problems with the opera mini and im using the default browswer right now and its not to bad, maybe because of the 3.5G, who knows, i've updated it to the latest firmware which added the kinetic scrolling and a few other things but now my ovi store wont load 😕 go figure. I believe the ACER Liquid will be comming to AT&T and the snapdragon looks great and fast, but im so used to having alot of internal memory like on the n97 and i refuse to go back to and iphone (i've used 3 so im not a hater by anymeans) but we will see what AT&T has up its sleeves for the android world
...
Might you have any idea how I can maybe completly reset my N95 and then try reinstalling Opera Mini? This default browser sucks, it loads like 200kb's, then reloads the webpage all over again, it's annoying, and it's time consuming to load a web page.
...
here's some options
*#7370#(lock code default is 12345 or 00000)
*#7780#
Turn off your phone, then turn it back.
While its turning press and hold the following buttons:
Call, 3, *
...
All that did was reset the settings. I want to return the phone COMPLETLY to the way it was out of the box. Hopefully doing so I will get lucky and manage to get Opera Mini to launch.
...
I did what you said, all that did was reset the settings. I want to return the phone to completly original out of the box. That way I can reinstall Opera Mini and hopefully it will work.
...
how bout this one
Press Call + 3 + * simultaneously during the bootup phase, forces the N95 to do a complete wipe of internal memory.
This will reset the phone back to 100% standard factory configuration.
Be warned: backup any important data before attempting this with your phone

I work for AT&T so I believe that everyone should have AT&T. But only if you buy from me. Otherwise, who cares?
ps. I use Sprint because I love my Hero 😉
...
ill be first in line to put money directly in your pocket 🤣
...
Ah, Hero is nice. Personally I want an Android smartphone with a slideout keyboard.
...
yeah I've used a mytouch which is basically a hero w/o the sense and i enjoyed it
...
I use a Rogers Magic on AT&T and with the latest upgrade it has the senseUI just like the Hero.
...
What's like using an unlocked Android on ATT? Does mms & internet work ok?
I think 1 of the Canadian carriers has an LG Android that I wouldn't mind having. It has a slideout keyboard.
...
everything works perfectly, i havent had any problems with any unlocked phones before execept when i had an unlocked tp2 from vz using it on at&t and the mms never worked but it could have been an issue with the rom that it was flashed wit
...
Are you telling me you used an unlocked tp2 on Vzn (CDMA) and then on ATT(GSM)? How exactly did that work??? They use completly different network technologies.
I really wish HTC would make an Android phone that has a slideout keyboard that is identical to the TP2.
...
I wouldn't switch just for a Backflip, and I like the phone, the Cliq is similar enough. And btw, I do use AT&T.
Sure if there are other reasons, fine, coverage, friends on AT&T so you can use mobile to mobile etc... But not just for the phone. At least before you do anything, wait for several more Android releases before doing anything.
