I'm glad they didn't take away the zoom buttons!

I just updated mine and I'm glad they added it for when I'm stationary...but I'm also glad they realized that multitouch requires TWO HANDS and that's not a good idea when you're driving, so they left the -/+ zoom buttons on the screen for us too.

BTW, they seem to be adding cool stuff to Maps from Google Labs somewhat regularly. I just discovered they've added a "My Location" button, which I've been missing from the Windows Mobile version ever since I switched to the Droid.

Has anyone been able to find the Night Mode, though? Or maybe that is only for the N1? I can't find it.

Night mode will ONLY show up when you are using Google Maps navigation. It basically dims the screen and makes those green borders black.

Thanks...so I tried going into Navigation mode but I don't see it. So, I thought maybe it was based on the light sensor, so I went into a pitch black room, but nothing changed. I'm feeling like an idiot here.

It's based on the time of day (like a normal gps)

🙂 Don't worry, I've done my share of stupid things with phones
