I'd rather drop a few bucks on a blank MicroSD card and load it with my own collection.

Exactly! I buy the card and NOT the music. A thousand snippets... Whatever!

they said snippets but slot radio is 1000 SONGS ( so unless something changed) $50 for a 1000 songs is what...a nickel a song. Yes I agree I will not use it but for a lot of people out their that can't figure mp3 and aac and ipods out....yes they do exist. This is an easy fix, you buy it slap it in, then just hit play.

Their will not be tons of sales out there but I do see a market for it.

1000 snippets is not 1000 entire songs. It is 1000 parts of songs. So, personally I like to listen to the entire song.

According to the product's website, it's 1000 'full-length songs'.

The cost is actually more like 4 cents per song since you are also getting 4 GB of storage for your use in addition to the songs...since 4GB cards go for $10 minimum I imagine. I would seriously consider this product only because I do not own alot of music or pay subscription fees to get/listen music. It does suck that if you have a song you like, you have to destroy your thumb joints to skip past the next 999 songs. 😛 But probably other songs you like will be in that sequence.

It'd be nice if it wasn't just restricted to one carrier (or one OS/platform for that matter).

wow, check out the fine print on the preloaded songs...talk about a pain in the ass...

*This slotRadio card contains 1000 songs pre-programmed in music playlists for unlimited playback; preloaded content from this title is compatible only with specified slotRadio and slotRadio+ enabled devices and services. Visit slotradio.com/mobile for slotRadio+ devices and services. Much like radio, these songs are played in sequence and cannot be re-wound or rearranged, yet individual songs can be skipped as often as you want. Song and playlist files cannot be copied or viewed (for example on a PC).

Oh believe me, I know. Ten years in wireless. I still cringe at some of the customers I had. I think that is why the iphone is such a great device. User friendly.
