Why is Google the only 3rd-party seller named?

Why in the hell is a phone manufacturer named? Because they're the one who, for some reason, decided to put an ETF on the phone they make. No other manufacturer does that.

Google isn't the manufacturer of the Nexus One, HTC is.

True but it's built to google's specs and commissioned by google. This isn't the same deal as a droid or a G1 or even a Tilt. Those were built by the companies to their own specs and those companies decided what OS to put on it. This was built to Google's specs by their own dime and they are in full control of it. HTC just put the parts together.

Umm...last time I checked isn't the Android OS regulated/created by Google & don't they have a lotta input on the devices sold by the carriers?

Nobody charges an ETF as the manufacturer, not even Google. Google charges the ETF as a reseller of the carrier's service. The logo on the phone means nothing.

Carriers have some phones branded exclusively with their own name, but that has no effect on the ETF situation either way.
