Let me remind you that we are traveling on a road to a communist country and when the government passes a law like this, even if you like this law, it put us one more mile closer to the communist country. Please stop and think about what is going on now days. Did we get to vote on this? No! The government just decided for us what is best. You say thats ok cause I agree with this law but what about when they pass something that you dont agree with and did not even give you a choice. What if they decide that the public dont really need cell phones and they decide that only the government should have them, you say there is no chance of that, and that maybe true today but what about 5 years from now.

Really?
you want to go there?
i bet you are one of the same people that think computers are going to rise up against humans and take over the world too. anything that will help me live another day is alright by me.
Listen a law shouldnt have to be made for something like this. it should be common sence. i dont want a big rig swerving over into my lane because he/she isnt paying attention. if its important they can just make a phone call hopefully on a bluetooth.
But if youre cool with chancing death than write your Senator about it. Cheers Very Happy

Hey man this is really going to happen. The machines will destory us all and with those who survive will have to fight to bring humanity back to this planet. But the machines will make machines that look just like us to trick us and kill John Conner and then Kyle Reese in the future and past!

Its really simple vote for someone who agrees with your views.... and if you say there is no one running with your same views, then you need to take a look at your way of life Wink

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with communism, and you seem to misunderstand our government structure. We don't vote on all the issues- that is what is done in a direct democracy. We live in a representative republic, not a democracy. That means we elect people to make these decisions for us. So, in a way we did vote on this. Last November Americans headed to the polls to elect a President, Senators, and Representatives. Those elected officials decided this law needed to be in place, so they followed the outline given to them by the Constitution and they passed the law.

If you don't like it, you can avoid it. Don't operate a vehicle for profit on the government owned roads and highways and it will not apply to you. But, if you chose t...

government paid roads by our tax dollars, so actually we own the roads cause we paid for them, and continue to do so. I have no problem with this law, and I have no problem that it got passed the way it did. Just kind of makes you think of V for Vendetta, or any other big brother type movie.

and let me guess... you probably think that its OK to drive a vehicle while watching a DVD (this was also made law, if I'm not mistaken), or drinking while impared.

If I'm not mistaken, a general rule to which this can be applied already exists in California 'driving distracted', which can apply for just about anything. In SoCal, there's a LOT of poor driving with people still not using hands-free and talking while driving... just look for either the accidents, or near misses with car horns going off.

I agree with you. We don't need more laws. If i want to drive in my car without a seat belt, talking on the phone, and eating breakfast i should be able to. It would be a bad idea but its my choice to be responsible or not.
