Verizon's The Most Expensive Company!

I keep hearing this. "Verizon has hidden fees". Or "Verizon charges more than any other carrier." Yet, whenever Verizon makes changes to their plans, ATT breaks the sound barrier to mirror it.

I can imagine some att reps trying to field questions from customers right now.

Yeah, for the longest, longest time both carriers have had the same exact lame plans, a measly 450 or 900 minutes.

That "measly" 450 or 900 minute plans are still less $$ than Unlimited, and there are a lot of people that don't use their phones very much, so it costs less for them to be on the 450 than the unlimited.

Pretty smart. I called this. AT&T only considers Verizon its competition.

As a rep I never considered ATT competition.. my competition was the corp store and online pricing. >.

Well, I'm sying AT&T considers Verizon ITS competition. They only react to what Verizon does which is why I knew they would match whatever this was before the idiots leaked these plans to BGR.

You raise an interesting idea. Verizon had to know that ATT would match them. In a sense, ATT's reactive approach gives Verizon the power. They tug the leash and ATT does what's expected. I wonder if this is part of a larger strategy on Verizon's part?

I would laugh if they kept cutting costs here and there, and then suddenly did the big one (smartphone data plans) and then watch ATT crawl into a corner when they remember the Iphone

Menno,
True, but I will say this, if VZW gets an iPhone, they will advertise from today till tomorrow and will sell 10's of millions of them.

Oh I know they will. I was just saying that their network is already so strained, and iphones so costly, that if Verizon dropped the prices of smartphones any, it might be a bit much for ATT.

I don't know, honestly, AT&T needs to build up its 3g infrastructure and needs to start with their lte spectrum. They have been sitting on their asses to long.

AT&T is also far less in debt, nor does it have to start coughing profit up to its handlers, I do know Vodafone is getting pissy about not getting any profits, and I do know Verizon (not wireless) wants Voda out. They both have issues, just different. And who knows what 20 million or so iphones will do to VZW's evdo network? It may not bring ...

Most everything gets leaked to BGR! Whst's so bad about that? That's why people go to BGR's website, to see what's on the horizon, and so on.

because it removes a companies competitive edge. For the data change, it means a lot of people are going to be signing up for phones friday-sunday (which isn't bad) but it also means that reps are going to be hounded with questions that they might not know the answers too.

A lot of the indirects around here weren't getting full details until sunday.

Oh yeah, they have to be trained on the details of the new plans.

Probably sometime in the not too distant future, I'm going to drop my 3rd line, and therefore will be able to take advantage of these new unlimited 2-line plans, you know I just thought of something, if I have unlimited on 2-lines, and txt/mms on both lines, can I have only data on ?one? line?

depends on the plan set up.. but like I told Versed, access discounts typically don't work on unlimited minute plans

But I wonder if I have unlimited voice/txt/mms on 2 lines, if I can have data only one one line, that's with ATT of course.

I know they don't with Sprint for a fact. But, I will ask sometime next week if AT&T will, can't hurt to ask. But I'm afraid you're right on this.
