So, in short, As phones become more sophisticated, so does the camera features. Kodak does have patents on many of the features that are only now being fostered in on these devices.
Many times these threats, even from Apple, who I admit is a sue happy company, and even so its not the worst. Are used not so much for compensation but to use as a hammer to cross license technology from another company. And yes even Apple does this, especially with MSFT.
BTW, I'm still bitter at the loss of Kodachrome. But I admit times change.
Actually, computers have licensed some of these techs for years. However, they process info differently. Because of the complexities of todays new smartphones, the knowledge appeared to have been forgot about. We shall see. But I suspect a loss for the two phone manufactures. Samsung was smart to settle.
