Actually...Nokia sued Apple for patent infringement. It also sued just about every other major phone manufacturer in existance, including some of the small-time ones. There was a list of like 80 companies included in the lawsuit. Apple *counter-sued* Nokia because Nokia was looking for back royalties on 33.7mil. in iPhone sales. The difference between Apple an Samsung is that Samsung settled out of court while Apple is smart enough to to let the court decide. Apple rarely settles out of court because Steve Jobs inderstands the simple maxim "innocent till proven guilty".

To Apple and other larger corporations, this is nothing. Legal fee's to them (not talking settlements) are like you buying a candy bar in Walmart.

These companies know the only true way to protect themselves is by having a large fund set up for lawyers- it hurts the consumer more than anyone when lawsuits like this occur. We pay for both the investigation (through taxes) and the trial (through buying the companies products).
