When AT&T said this but it is ok when Verizon announces the same thing?

Charge me less and I'll use less, charge me more and I'll use more. Which only makes sense for the current billing system. Got to use up that $30 monthly charge.

Agreed, there is a lot of AT&T hate on these boards a lot of the time.

I use (and love) my iPhone. What I think people get mad about is AT&T bringing this stuff up after the problem arrises. IMO Verizon (being able to use the 20/20 hindsight of what happened to AT&T with the iPhone) is trying to deal with the network overload before it happens. There is going to be a data explosion on their network once/if they get the iPhone and when Android truely takes off.

I'm with Verizon now and I liked At&t better. They had better rural coverage in my area, had the BB bold. I now have the Imagio(htc) but have to admit the experience isn't too bad.

At&t ever launches LTE or any kind of 3g or 4g service in my area i'll be going back. Big red isnt bad but I just feel that they nickel and dime me too much.

ATT was talking about current plans, aka iphone users.

Verizon is talking about 4g

Ok so verizon admits it can not handle the upgrade to LTE so it is limiting its usage.... I get it now.

I find it hard to believe that backhaul locations cannot suport unlimited LTE data to these towers.... Ok so mabye they'll have to put in another BSC or switch here and there. Not like its not going to happen in the future. Spend the money now and sell the product instead of being the first to have it and limit the hell out of it.

No, they are saying with the way that new devices are using data (where smartphones can use GB a month without thinking about it) making one size fits all plans don't make sense.

They don't want to run into the issue ATT had when they picked up the iphone, where their network tanked and they've been playing catchup for years.

Verizon spends more on their network than any other company. they are spending a hell of a lot of cash to try and get the network ready. That doesn't mean they can predict everything.. Seriously, my phone is getting flash in a few weeks (most likely) could you imagin 40+ million people trying to use Hulu?

It's a lot better to launch with tierd pricing and then back off of it than it is to delay the hell o...

Or, they could just throttle the network at launch and slowly open it up to capacity.

That would work too.

Yeah well guess what, throttling the network back won't get me as a customer!!!
I pay for speed!

Would you rather have unlimited usage at a slightly slower speed, or limited usage at a faster speed?

I'm all about unlimited. If I can keep my rev A speeds at about 600k-1.2mbits I'd be all about that for the next few years.

yeah, at 600k-1.2mbits, it would be feasible to have unlimited.

The issue is that LTE looks to launch at 5-6 times that Realworld speeds. That is what this announcement is for, not 3g speed data.

I know menno... but I'm looking forward to other improvements to improve what I already have. IF they build the network to sustain LTE data transmissions then existing dated revA's should not be an issue to make unlimited.

Then I will keep what I have. LTE...not interested. If I can ever get Wi-Max Unlimited then I'll migrate to that.

The last computer on a cell network before the open world of fiber circuits. Basically all calls going from say Verizon to At&t get routed through this machine. M2M calls only get as far as the switch.

Not to me, it wasn't OK when AT&T said it, its not OK when VZW says it.
