...with the capacities.

I've got an 8 gig SD card that holds over a thousand 12 megapixel images.

I guess this will be good for video freaks.

I have 30gb's of music on my computer. I would love to have all of my music on my blackberry if they made a card big enough.

Options are good. Keep pushing it!

And yes, it will be good for video freaks, lol

Keep in mind though closer a memory card is to full slower it runs.

thats why the more space the better and loose the OS can run and thats not assuming that the memory is partitioned/gated

Because if its a gated memory if I'm not mistaken then it shouldn't matter because the OS runs off a seperate part of the memory unlike shared memory.

I think what you said applies to the pc, not smartphones. The OS is stored on internal memory in smartphones, right?

Flash memory would be *awful* to run a phone OS on. PPCgeeks and xdadev actually had some ROM changes that would allow portions of the card or the whole thing to be accessed and used for file cache. Problem was Flash has x amount of write cycles, once reached, dead. Now used for storing music and stuff, great. Used for cache for an OS? I killed 1 in 2 months, the other in about 3.

Your SD cards are, and should only, be used for storing files that you "read" often, not continuous or even often file writing. It kills them.
