I know right. If they're gonna insist on keeping iDEN they should at least restore WiDEN. It will help a bit when that iden Android phone comes out. The idea of an Android phone on iDEN is ridulous as it is.

neither of you have any business sense, nextel is always marketing to hard on their phone customers. Sprint will sell a ton of these to people looking to stay rugged. Not everyone needs a state of the art high end phone.

True but tell that Motorola who developed an Android device for them. Android OS needs broadband not slow as molasses iDEN. What is it? 28kpbs?

your point has nothing to do with this thread or article, I never once said the iden android was going to be a good device. With that said, I am not entirely sure they won't release that as a hybrid device, which would actualyl be pretty awesome.

You fail at using common sense... people in construction usually don't care about INTERNET speed!!!!! They want a phone that will work with cement dust around and harsh conditions etc.... And also it replaces them having to use walkie talkies with PTT.

Actually, My friend's construction company is in the market for new Nextel phones. They are currently looking to purchase 61 of these Big,Fat, Rubberized, Ancient Nextel Devices. I don't believe an Android device at this point could withstand a construction environment.

Hey, as much as push to talk will never be a big seller for any carrier I give Sprint alot of respect for still offering them. There will always be a portion of companies looking for a rugged mil-spec phone. I also like the fact that most of these phones offer the off-network option. Given the way the world is these days you never know when a simple feature like this might be needed.

I work in an area where Nextel is pretty solid, and I have to agree - there is definitely still a market for these devices.

My store sold all 15 of these phone between yesterday and before this site announced this phone. Not everyone that buys a phone is a teenager that wants to watch youtube or see what their friends are doing on facebook. The people that use this type of phone for work probably pay for the majority of spoiled touchscreen phone users out there.

How exactly is a brand new phone "ancient"?

Do you not understand what "military spec" means?

Do you think the only people with a need for a cell phone are people with soft hands who delicately handle fragile phones as though they were Swarovski crystals? If so, think again.

There will always be a need for rugged, military-spec phones. ALWAYS.

You might want to actually try one of these out before you open your mouth.

The Quantico from Metro has a great feel, great screens, and pulls in a nice signal. I dig it.

Nextel doesn't make phones...... Maybe you should actually tell the truth about your experiences instead of lies so you can create a post.
