1. VZW did this to themselves with the BOGO deals. Quit this deal to stop the flipping and no need to raise the ETF. Simple as that.

2. You, Joe Consumer, signed a contract. If you didn't like the terms, don't sign it. And always make sure you know the terms before you sign, as some reps may not tell you everything unless you ask. Be informed.

I am a Sprint and AT&T user (my wife has T-Mob), and have never had VZW, and have nothing good or bad to say about them. This topic is just getting ridiculous as everyone is just beating a dead horse. Fanboys and Bashers please stop. This topic isn't exactly like we are trying to fix the state of the public education system or cure cancer or something really important!

The problem is, too many people in America aren't decent enough to honor their word. There is no value in todays society for personal accountability. Everything is about "what can i get for free?" and "how can I scam X to get Y?"

It's a damn shame. I wasn't raised like that and I'll be embarassed and ashamed if my kids end up with beliefs like those.

I agree and don't agree with you on this. Keep in mind I am in the wireless industry. However, contracts were really designed because people in the United States do want something for free. This is almost soloy why we have contracts. The UK pay full price for their phones and their services are prepaid. Now breaking terms of a contract and paying an ETF is not made because people can't honor their word. Don't get me wrong I am sure that some people leave for very stupid reasons but understand that this is a 2 way street. If the service isn't providing like it says (ex: say they have service where they don't, and this happens all the time) then it is the Service side that is in the wrong and in some will allow you to break the contract...
